A Flash Marriage Can Be A Treasure novel Chapter 508

Louis lowers his head and reads the documents to divert his attention. He replies indifferently, "You think too much. She wanted to break up with me, and I agreed. Now she is pregnant with someone else's child and getting married. She has my blessing."

Chandler is doubtful. "But I don't see it on your face."

...

Louis just ignores Chandler, so Chandler leans over and asks, "So, do you know that police had taken Lily away before?"

"What?" Louis looks up at Chandler. "When?"

"You really don't know it?" Chandler widens his eyes and says in surprise, "It was during your business trip. They made a big deal out of it. I thought you knew about it."

"Tell me why she was taken away."

So, Chandler tells Louis everything. The Egret Company accused the HS of stealing their products. Lily was suspected of murdering a pregnant woman. She was taken to the police station from the company and stayed there for ten days.

Chandler continues, "Chloe kept calling you after Lily was taken away. But your phone was switched off. In the end, it was Jessie who went to the Egret Company and asked them to drop the case."

"I was dealing with something abroad. I can't bring my phone with me there." Louis looks very gloomy now. "I didn't expect it would happen."

When he was negotiating with Willow's family, he gave them a house in the center of L City and 50 million out of guilt.

Louis thinks that he has fixed it, but he never expects that they would be so greedy and come at Lily!

"Chloe and I could do nothing but watch Lily getting detained. Fortunately, Jessie was there. If it weren't for her asking them to withdraw the lawsuit, Lily would have been screwed up."

Louis asks, "When I was abroad, was it big news?"

"Of course. It has been a trending topic and the headlines of the major websites," Chandler says, "There were many reporters waiting outside the HS. That is a big scene."

"It's such big news, but I didn't see anything when I came back." Louis smiles coldly. He looks intimidating with his dark eyes. "Looks like someone knows my schedule very well!"

When he went abroad, they made it the headline all over the country.

When he comes back, everything is gone.

Chandler is not stupid. He knows what Louis means. "You mean that someone messed with Lily when you went abroad?"

"Stay out of it. I will take care of it," Louis says indifferently.

Louis has been suspecting that someone put blood-circulation herbs in the duck soup. But he didn't investigate it back then. Now he's sure that someone did that on purpose.

He wants to find out who was behind it and did such nasty things!

Chandler shrugs and mutters, "What good does that do you now? Lily is getting married."

Louis looks at Chandler gloomily, "What did you say?"

"Nothing!" Chandler shrinks back and jumps off the chair. "It's still early. I'll go to the hospital and see if I can get the medicine. Then I could go to Lily's place to see my future wife."

"Wait." Louis calls Chandler, "What medicine are you going to take at the hospital?"

"Just the kind that Lily was prescribed for last time. It's for the babies," Chandler says, "Lily has taken two boxes of the medicine. I think that she might need it."

"Let me see."

Chandler unlocks his phone and finds the photo of the medicine box that he took before. He hands his phone to Louis. "Here it is."

Louis looks at it and frowns. "There aren't many medicines for unborn babies. And I've never heard of it. Are you sure you took it from the hospital?"

"Yes, I took it from the hospital's window." Chandler scratches his head. He's confused. "Wait. How do you know that there aren't many medicines for unborn babies? Why are you searching this? Louis, are you...."

"No." Louis interrupts Chandler and returns the phone to him with a grim face.

"I didn't say anything!"

Louis lowers his head to deal with his work. "I still have work to do. Just go."

...

Since Louis ignores him, Chandler shrugs and leaves his office.

Louis seems to be working. But actually, he is thinking about something else.
