A Flash Marriage Can Be A Treasure novel Chapter 548

Leigh completely gives up going to the company and hands over all the power to the vice president. He will be called only if something urgent happens.

He asks Jessie if she wants to paint. Servants are ordered to buy some paints and an easel. The easel is set up in the garden. Basking in the sunshine, he keeps her company while she is painting.

If Jessie doesn't want to draw, he will read some books for her, or play guessing games with her.

He has never lost his temper with her again and always coaxes her gently.

He cannot bring back what she used to be, but it won't matter as long as she is with him.

That's enough.

The doctor gave a bottle of medication. Leigh drips eye drops into Jessie's eyes every morning and evening.

After a week, eye drops almost used up. But Jessie still can't see anything.

Today the vice president of the company calls Leigh and asks him to handle urgent matters personally.

"Jessie, stay at home and wait for me. I'll be back as soon as I'm done." Leigh kisses her lips and says, "When I come back, I'll bring you a mousse cake, okay?"

Jessie nods, "You go. Servants will look after me."

After Leigh leaves, Jessie wants to bask in the sun.

Her servant says that it is hot and sunny today and she will get sunburned, so she tells the servant to turn on the TV to listen to the news herself.

She eats and drinks in the living room and watches TV in the morning.

But at noon, Leigh doesn't return.

After lunch, Jessie feels a little sleepy. She touches her way upstairs alone without the servant's help.

As soon as she gets upstairs, she faintly hears voices coming from afar.

"Mrs. Jessie is so pitiful. The doctor said that she couldn't keep her child. She will have an abortion operation next week but she still doesn't know anything."

A servant sighs, "Mr. Leigh is afraid that she will be too sad, so he doesn't dare to tell her."

Another servant also sighs, "But how can Mrs. Jessie not know the truth? Also, her uncle and aunt are dead. Mrs. Jessie is still kept in the dark."

"I heard that her aunt died in a traffic accident when she rushed to the hospital. It's really hard to predict life and death."

The servant whispered, "I heard from them that Mrs. Jessie had disappeared. Mr. Leigh was very angry and ordered someone to ask her uncle about her whereabouts ... Mr. Leigh is too extreme."

"This is nothing. There is a more terrible thing. Mr. Leigh imprisoned her before. It's only been a few days since Mrs. Jessie left and now she is taken back."

"Mrs. Jessie is so miserable."

"..."

After chatting for a while, the servants quickly go to work.

Jessie grabs the handrail firmly, with her joints pale and her body trembling.

Her brain is almost blank.

Hearing the sound of footsteps getting closer and closer, she bites her lips fiercely, touches the handrail, and slowly walks up to pretend that she has just come up.

The two servants who are about to go downstairs are shocked when they see Jessie at the staircase entrance.

"Mrs. ... Mrs. Jessie."

Jessie nods and says in a tired voice, "I'm so sleepy. I want to go back to my room and sleep awhile."

"Mrs. Jessie, do you want me to help you?"

"No, thanks."

Jessie slowly walks upstairs and listens to the footsteps of the servants as they mutter nervously, "She just went upstairs. She didn't hear our conversation, did she?"

"..."

Jessie is filled with a sense of sadness and she tries to hold back her tears.

Her legs also get weak.

After finding the room, she cannot hold on. She falls limply on the carpet and covers her face with her hands. She bites her lips and cries silently, afraid of being heard.

So what Chace said is true. Her uncle and aunt have died.

Leigh talks to her a lot and asks her if she wants to go out for a picnic tomorrow. Now Jessie's mind is in a mess. She doesn't care what he is saying and just always agrees.

She doesn't know when she returns to the bedroom with Leigh, but he sleeps beside her.

Although she slept all afternoon, she is still sleepy and gradually falls asleep.

Jessie has a nightmare and is so scared that she wakes up in a flash with her hands and feet numb.

She gasps and opens her eyes. She thinks that it is darkness in front of her again, but she sees the warm yellow chandelier above her head.

European chandelier, like a glass flower, is very beautiful.

Is she still dreaming?

Jessie blinks her eyes. The chandelier hasn't disappeared yet, and she can hear her breathing.

Raising her hand, she can see her slender fingers.

Jessie is calm when she realizes that she can see with her own eyes. She slightly tilts her head and sees a man sleeping beside her, who has charming facial features.

Who is he?

Jessie finds that she has been blind for so long. She is familiar with this man, but now it is as if she does not know him.

She stares at Leigh quietly. She suddenly remembers the whispers of the two servants in the afternoon, as well as the words that a strange man told her on the phone the other day.

He brings her into such a miserable position. Why does he bring her back and imprison her beside him?

Her uncle and aunt died, and her only relatives were gone. Her eyes are gradually filled with hatred.

She quietly lifts the blanket and steps over the man.

Jessie pulls the drawer and sees the knife she put in it a long time ago.

She takes out her knife and pulls it out of its sheath.

The blade is sharp and bright, reflecting her eyes, red but lifeless.
