Chapter 247
"I did it to cope with the current situation!" John argued, somewhat agitatedly. ’ My resistance only worsens things, especially when I don't have the power to go against my grandfather!"
"Then what makes you think you can convince me that it'll change in just six months?"
Her retort dumbfounded John. There was nothing he could say that could convince her, all the more so when his actions couldn't prove otherwise.
"Perhaps my doubts aren't because you're not capable of it," Cordy said," but because I don't love you enough. So, it's best for us to separate now while our relationship hasn't gotten deep enough.”
Cordy pushed open the car door again.
Seriously, enough was enough.
She didn't want to be involved with him any longer.
"You can take the car. Just have Walter drive it back to me when he has time."
Cordy got out of the car and left with confident steps. As far as she was concerned, she and John would forget about each other, and that was the end of it.
But as she walked into the elevator, John suddenly forced the door open. Before Cordy could react, he rushed in and pressed her up against the elevator walls, pressing a hard kiss against her lips.
Cordy was shocked; the next moment, she began to resist frantically. She shoved against his chest with both hands, but he didn't budge.
Rather, it made him lose more control. He kept pressing his lips against her in an overbearing manner, as if he was trying to prove something. It felt like he was trying to mold both their bodies together, not wanting to let even a wisp of air come in between them.
Cordy narrowed her eyes, then bit down hard on John's lips.
John winced from the pain and paused his frenzied kisses for a moment, but then she tasted the metallic taste of blood on her lips at the next moment as he pressed his lips against hers bruisingly again.
Cordy's tightly clenched fist eventually loosened as she chose to compromise.
