Celebration Gala.
The hotel ballroom was lit up like a dream, buzzing with excitement and warmth. Long tables were packed with mouth-watering dishes and a variety of fine wines, as executives, brokers, investors, and notable figures from the political and business worlds arrived dressed to the nines.
Connor was undeniably the star of the night, looking sharp in a custom-tailored black tuxedo, his tall frame exuding elegance and authority. Beside him stood Camila, just as captivating. With a touch of makeup, she wore a stunning white evening gown featuring a subtle cut-out at the back, giving a peek of her delicate skin. Her hair, lightly curled, cascaded over her shoulders, partially hiding the glimpse of her snow-white back and adding an air of mystery.
Connor had picked out this gown for her. Their black and white ensemble made them stand out like a pair of newlyweds.
For many of the executives, this was their first time seeing her in such glamorous attire, and they couldn't help but admire her.
"Camila is absolutely gorgeous!" Bryan remarked with a chuckle. "That's not news—have you been living under a rock?"
"It's too bad she has a boyfriend. If the company's no-dating policy were lifted, the secretarial office would be swarming with suitors," another added, making everyone laugh.
"Speaking of which, why didn't Mr. Connor bring his girlfriend to such an important event?" someone else chimed in.
"Probably keeping her under wraps, doesn't want us to meet her," another joked.
"I was hoping to finally see the lady of the house today," Secretary Chen said with a knowing smile and a shake of his head. Only he knew the real story.
Throughout the evening, Camila stayed by Connor's side, her smile warm and serene.
