"Erica..." Logan's voice trembled as he softly called out her name.
"What are you doing here?" Erica's voice was cold and distant.
Logan didn't answer right away. Instead, he walked up to her and knelt down. "I swear there's nothing going on between me and that girl. She's like a sister to me."
"Then why were you in her hotel room? And her hair was still damp!" Erica shot back.
"I swear, it wasn't like that! I'll show you the text messages. She tricked me into going there, saying someone was trying to harm her and she needed my help!"
"I ran into you right as I got to the door after your interview."
Logan held her gaze without flinching and pulled out his phone, scrolling to the messages.
The texts clearly showed their relationship was purely platonic, nothing more.
He took Erica's hand and, in front of her, deleted the girl's contact.
Erica pulled her hand away and headed to the bathroom, closing the door behind her. Logan quickly followed, blocking the door and slipping inside.
He stood in front of her, his eyes sincere. "Erica, just trust me this once. I admit, I used to be a player, but since I met you, there’s been no one else."
Seeing she was still unmoved, he quickly began deleting every female contact from his phone, decisively and without hesitation.
But there were too many contacts. Even after several minutes, he was nowhere near finished.
Finally, in a moment of sheer resolve, he tossed his phone into the toilet.
The water flushed away his phone and, symbolically, his past mistakes.
"I'll get a new phone, a new SIM card!" he declared, as if swearing his loyalty and determination to Erica.
Erica watched him, tears slowly streaming down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry for hurting you," Logan said softly, wiping her tears and pulling her into a tight embrace.
