Erica didn't seem to notice Wesley's unease as she joked, “Don't be so picky! One of these days, I'll introduce you to some stunning girls.”
Wesley managed a weak smile and responded with a casual nod.
“I’m going to the restroom,” Erica said.
As she walked away, Wesley's eyes trailed after her until she was out of sight. He then turned to Camila and asked in a low voice, “Is she still with that guy?”
Camila nodded, “Yeah, it’s her longest relationship so far.”
Wesley let out a self-mocking chuckle.
“Are they... happy?” he asked quietly.
Camila gave him a sympathetic look. She knew how he felt about Erica and understood his current turmoil. She nodded gently, “They seem really happy together.”
Wesley was silent for a moment before forcing a bitter smile.
“Haven’t you moved on yet?” Camila asked.
Wesley looked down, biting his lower lip, “After all these years, it feels like there's no room for anyone else in my heart.”
He then looked up, trying to smile, “Once she’s had her fun, she’ll see me, right?”
Camila’s emotions were a mix of pity and helplessness as she looked at him.
A while later, Erica returned, and the food started arriving. Wesley picked up his fork and began eating mechanically, as if the food had no flavor.
Noticing Wesley's glum demeanor, Erica asked with concern, “Wesley, what’s up? Don't you like the food?”
Wesley looked up, forcing a weak smile, “It’s nothing, I’m probably just tired.”
“Tired?” Erica teased. “It’s not like you just flew in from overseas and are jet-lagged.”
