Camila glanced around and saw everyone else shivering in the cold wind, clutching their wet towels tightly and muttering, "It's freezing! These towels are soaked."
Her colleagues, heads down and necks hunched, hurried towards the changing room. "Let's get back and change quickly."
Camila watched them scurry off, then looked down at her own swimsuit and had to admit, it was pretty warm.
She leisurely patted herself dry, not in any rush, and followed her colleagues at a relaxed pace.
Back in her room, Camila changed into fresh clothes.
"Let's go grab some dinner," Marissa suggested while touching up her makeup. "How about a massage after eating? I heard the masseurs here are top-notch."
Camila nodded. She was feeling a bit worn out and looking forward to some relaxation. The company had booked the entire resort hotel, offering free buffets and all-inclusive amenities.
At the restaurant.
Camila and Marissa picked a seat by the window and ran into Alan. Camila asked, "Has Mr. Connor had dinner yet?"
Alan shrugged, "No idea if he got room service; he's been holed up in his room working."
Camila frowned slightly, almost imperceptibly.
She turned to Marissa, apologizing, "Marissa, I’ll go check on Mr. Connor. I might skip the massage later."
Marissa nodded knowingly, "Go ahead, you've got a lot on your plate with the annual meeting and taking care of Mr. Connor."
Camila left the restaurant and headed to Connor's room, swiping her card to enter.
Connor was at his desk, buried in paperwork. Hearing the door, he looked up and a flicker of surprise crossed his face, quickly replaced by a warm smile.
He teased, "What brings you here? Didn't think you could tear yourself away from Marissa."
Seeing the pile of documents and the laptop on Connor’s table, Camila felt a twinge of sympathy and sat on the couch.
