Everly felt jealousy when she heard Carolina used to have an open invitation.
No matter what the reason was, she was very unhappy right now.
So she insisted to leave, "Bring Edmond to me. You can have the driver send us away if you like."
Maverick ignored Everly's words and told the servants, "Take the child to the room that I had prepared this afternoon. He will rest there."
Knowing he had arranged the room early, Everly was certain that this man already had a plan.
'It wouldn't have mattered so much. But now the situation is different.'
"Maverick, I already said that I want to leave. What's wrong with you?" she asked with a long face.
Had no child in his hand, Maverick stepped forward and hugged Everly. She struggled in his arms for a while. Maverick gently pinched her nose and smiled, "Sweetie, I already said that there was nothing between Carolina and me. Do you want me to explain?"
"I didn't say there was something! Why are you in such a hurry to explain?"
"You are still talking back to me. I know you're upset. I apologize to you, is that okay?"
"I don't want you to apologize. Did you do anything wrong? Why do you need to apologize since there was nothing between you and her?"
"You are finding faults with my words." Maverick reached over her waist and pinched her gently. He knew that Everly was sensitive to this position. Sure enough, the little cat in his arms immediately groaned softly and stiffened all over. He smiled, "Don't be angry, okay? You can do whatever you want. Don't go tonight. Go and take a shower. My bedroom is on the second floor."
Everly was very annoyed. He knew which part of her body was the most sensitive. With only one move, he made her go weak at the knees.
She felt herself shaking out of control.
Now that he was blowing on her ear, she couldn't take it anymore.
Everly knew that after he said all these if she still insisted on leaving, he would probably use "special" means to keep her.
'Forget it, it's not that I don't trust him, I just feel upset.'
Moreover, his behavior was enough to ease the discomfort.
At last, Everly compromised and went upstairs.
Carolina could not be in Maverick's bedroom.
In other words, even if she could enter the villa freely, she could not have set foot in the master bedroom.
Because she was not qualified.
Carolina used to think that if she wasn't qualified, then any woman out there was even more unqualified.
She always comforted herself in this way.
But now...
She had just stood at the corner of the staircase and heard the conversation downstairs.
The woman was haughty because of the man's love and indulgence.
She did not know how to describe her feelings. Jealousy? Unwillingness? Envy?
She had all of these feelings, and in the end, they all became resentment.
He had never talked to her like this. She had done her best to take care of Candy for so many years but had not received much attention from him, let alone such a doting tone.
Only then did Carolina realize how ridiculous she had been.
At this moment, she realized that this man was cold by nature, but it was not that he has no human love.
