"You saw me then?"
"Yeah, it's not this time. If it wasn't for this, I probably wouldn't remember. But it hits me now. I used to feel like we'd met somewhere before. And perhaps I saw you back then."
Maverick raised an eyebrow. "Tell me more about it."
Everly was about to speak when she saw Maverick staring at her.
She suddenly realized what her face was like.
Everly now had one of her eyes bandaged.
Women set great store by their appearances.
Besides, Everly was in front of the man she loved.
" ... You, don't stare at me. I don't look good right now." Everly was embarrassed and immediately turned her face away.
Maverick could not help but smile. "So you thought you used to be pretty?"
Everly answered, "I used to..." She realized that Maverick was teasing her and flew into a rage from shame. "Maverick, do you think I'm ugly?"
"No, of course not."
"Yes, you do."
"How do you get that?"
"What you just said means that you dislike me."
"Honey, I remember you were the one who asked me why I was always staring at you because you weren't good-looking, weren't you?"
Everly froze when she was called "honey" by Maverick in a low and charming voice. What Maverick said just now was annoying, but Everly was shy instead of getting mad. She looked like she was immersed in love when she clenched her fists and patted Maverick's chest. Playing the women, Everly said, "No, I didn't say that."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. I didn't say it."
"Fine, whatever you say." Maverick smiled, his eyes full of love. "Of course you're beautiful. You are the best-looking woman in the world."
"Are you trying to cheer me up?" Everly couldn't help but laugh out loud. "I didn't think you would please a woman. You're being hypocritical."
"Well, I see that there's some truth to women being difficult. Everly, it seem like everything I say is wrong."
"You got that right."
"Okay, I know."
"I... Do I look bad right now? I may have scars on my eye. I... I'm just plain looking. Wouldn't I look worse if I have a scar?"
Maverick looked deep into Everly's eyes.
Everly was quit worried. Although modern medicine was advanced and the scar could be repaired, Everly felt that it was different.
When Everly was stared by Maverick, she was uneasy.
Just as Everly was about to avoid his eyes, Maverick reached out and held her chin. "Everly, I hope that all men won't see the good in you."
Everly blinked her unharmed eye.
Her eyes shone like the brightest stars in the night sky to Maverick.
Everly was awesome.
Maverick lowered his head and kissed her lips. He said word by word, pressing his lips against hers, "You don't know how good you are."
