Sage’s expressions froze

She said as Jace stared intently at her, “I’m just saying. You could make your arrangement, Mr. Yuriel. It’s getting late, I’ll see you soon”

Sage got into the car and left.

Jace watched as her car went out of sight. He looked down and let out a bitter smile.

What was he thinking? Was he hoping that Sage would ask for him to stay, and go to the festivals with her? Jace would stay if that’s what she wanted.

She must hate me a lot now, Jace thought. I should just stay away from her.

“Just get in the car, Mr. Yuriel,” Zayne waited for him to get in. He couldn’t help but hurry him as he saw him frozen staring into the nothingness for too long,

Zayne wanted to tell him to give up. Stop making both sides suffer anymore.
