Chapter 514
Sage and Laura reached the club under the guidance of the navigation app.
The club requires a membership. Sage was just about to register for membership when she heard somebody behind her call out to her.
“Sage!” Sage turned around and saw a slightly hefty man, who was clad in luxury, walk toward her. The register sitting at the front desk immediately got up and said, “Boss!” Sage, of course, knew who he was. He was Henry Yuriel, one of Jace’s cousins. “Henry? Is this club yours?” asked Sage. Henry smiled and nodded.
Even though Sage recognized Henry, she did not know him personally. Sage mainly saw him at family gatherings and never met him personally. Braxton has two sons. One of them was a national chess champion, and he always stayed at his own house. Sage has only met him a handful of times.
The other son would be Henry, the prodigal son. He was well-known for his ability to waste money. When he was a kid, he would sell off the antiques in his house for a low price, and when he grew up, he even bought tons of useless stocks, angering Braxton to the point where he sent him off to a camp, trying to put him back on the right path. Henry would cry and plead for them to send him back home. He would even tell everybody that his father sold him off, causing his father to be quite famous around that part of the town for selling his son off. Just as Braxton was about to give up on his son, Henry suddenly turned into a hardworking kid, completing all the mundane tasks given to him and never complaining. In the end, Simon spoke up and got Henry back to the house. However, that experience caused Henry to really fall in love with the countryside, and he even got really close to the pair of the couple who took him in. He would visit them now and then. He even opened up a farm in the countryside after he graduated. The farm would offer the chance to experience farming for the city people. Henry knew that Sage was surprised that he had opened a club. He quickly explained, “This club was opened by my friends, they don’t have enough capital on hand, that’s why I invested. Who would have known that after I invested in this club, they disappeared into thin air. I have no choice but to take over. After that, my brother invested a large sum of money and found another friend to help me. Now I’m only the boss on paper.”
Henry was always friendly to everybody, unlike Jace, causing him to be more welcomed in the upper echelons of society.
“Did your big brother tell you I was coming?” asked Sage nonchalantly.
“Yup.”
