Chapter 554 It was almost afternoon when Sage helped Jace up. She pulled out the table and set the dishes she had brought on the table.
Jace smiled upon seeing the variety of dishes before him.
Sage was utterly confused when Jace started smiling and laughing, thinking it was odd and awkward.
Sage did hit his head, but she did not remember breaking his brain. Why was he laughing so much?
“What’s so funny?” Jace looked up at her and asked, “Don’t you think this is familiar?”
Huh?
Sage paused for a brief moment and eventually understood what he meant.
Touche.
Just a few days ago, Jace was the one who brought food and visited her in the hospital. Now, it was the complete opposite. Sage chuckled bitterly and said, “What a curse, us and hospitals.” Jace’s heart skipped a beat upon hearing the word ‘us’. His inky iris stared straight into Sage’s eyes; his gaze was like the night sky filled with stars glowing with sparkles. “Why are you staring at me? Is there something on my face?” Sage was oblivious to the flirting. She passed a pair of utensils to Jace and said, “Eat.” “Okay,” Jace answered, like an obedient child. With utensils in his hands, he asked, “Have you eaten?”
“Yes. These are yours,” Sage answered. Sage cleaned up the table and was about to throw the trash when Jace stopped her, “You don’t have to do this. Leave it to the care workers…”
“It’s alright. It’s not like I’ve never done this before.” Even though Sage was spoiled growing up, she still had plenty of experience with chores and knew what she was doing. Jace’s heart sank as he watched Sage cleaning up the room with agility. Sage was right. What had she not done when she took care of him in the past. Aside from taking out the trash and sweeping, she even used to clean out his urinal. On top of that, she gave him massages… How much love did she have for him back then to be able to do all of those things for him?
