Chapter 61
Yoel and Julian turned to look at Sage at the same time. They felt their chest tighten at the sight of her cold and grave expression.
Was Sage angry?
Sage was indeed feeling a little angry. However, throughout the years, she had learned to hide her emotions. Furthermore, there were not many people who could anger her. Besides, she should not waste her anger on their childish behavior.
The auction climaxed at the bid for the Columbian emerald necklace, and the crowd had lost interest in the next item- a set of enamel porcelain plates, up for auction.
Those who had lost interest in the plates were the people who did not care for antique porcelain items.
Enthusiasts like Sage had been eagerly waiting to bid for the porcelain plates.
Starting off the bidding, the auction master announced, “One million dollars.”
Hunter had raised the sign in Sage’s stead and said, “1.1 million dollars.”
The crowd was still baffled by Hunter’s actions. He had bid 200.1 million dollars on the necklace, and they wondered if he was really truly wealthy or whether he was simply flaunting what he did not have.
The other bidders knew that they were no match for Hunte, and they silently lowered their signs.
It was what Sage had expected to happen, however, just when the auction master was about to close the bid a member of the audience said, “1.2 million.”
Following the voice of the bidder, Sage saw Jace who was holding up the sign.
Sage frowned.
“Why is he so obsessed with bidding today?” wondered Sage.
He had never been such a show-off.
Hunter raised the.sign and said, “1.3 million dollars.”
