A Relentless Pursuit for Love novel Chapter 64

Chapter 64

So why had she stopped bidding?

Jace felt as if he was drowning in an ocean of doubts. Rubbing his temples, Jace sighed.

“Let’s go.”

Taking another look out the window, Jace thought that he would eventually get the answers he needed someday.

Returning to her room, Sage took a shower.

At soon as the hot water gushed out of the showerhead, Sage could no longer contain her anger, and she screamed. It was a short scream, but she was finally able to let out all the anger that had been building up inside her.

She was feeling extremely frustrated with the fact that she had lost the chance to own the set of enamel porcelain plates.

After showering, Sage pulled on a robe and sat in front of the dressing table. It was time for her nighttime skincare routine.

Her room was painted in shades of white, grey, and black, and most of her furniture was gold in color. Her room was minimalistic and classy. It was totally different from her room at Yuriel mansion.

At that time, she had wanted to create a warm and loving vibe at home. She had thought that Jace would prefer a woman who would make a good wife, but Jace had rarely set foot into their bedroom.

Women tended to easily lose themselves when they cared too much for their men, and most of the time their efforts and sacrifices would be taken for granted.

Her phone started ringing. It was Luther who was calling. “We’ve just wrapped up. I’m exhausted.”

“Mm” Sage was putting on lotion all over her arms. Her voice sounded neutral, like a robot that had run out of battery.

Hearing her voice, Luther chuckled, “Are you still upset about the enamel plates?”

Sage sighed and said, “It’s all my fault. I should have controlled myself. I was too impatient and too overconfident. The next time I come across something valuable, I’ll need to have a word with the seller. I never ever want to bid in public like that.”

After all, she was young, and she had been too impulsive and impatient, especially when faced with Jace, who was an astute and shrewd businessman.
