Chapter 658
Tim’s men dragged Madam Meyer out of the scene while Sage and Tim stayed to watch the rest of the fashion show.
The two of them sat in the front row. Sage turned her head to look at Tim and gripped his hand.
“Tim.”
Tim squeezed her hand back and tapped it lightly. “I’m okay. Watch the show.”
After years of being involved in the military and political world, Tim had mastered the art of disguising his emotions. Sage was still overwhelmed by how Tim lashed out at Madam Meyer earlier that day.
Sage knew that the deaths of Sofia and their child were Tim’s biggest pain and regret in his life. Tim was able to ignore and look past whatever Madam Meyer was doing before, but the fact that she admitted to harming his loved ones had successfully awakened the sleeping demon. The consequences that came next were not something she would be able to handle by herself. Jace had just finished reading the email sent by his unrelated uncle when he received a call from Yoel.
Upon answering the phone, Yoel started whining about how he had no will to live.
“Stop whining.”
Jace had no time for his bullsh*t. “How are things with you and Melody, all good?”
“… All good? That girl almost swallowed me alive!” Yoel whined and complained, “I thought I was pretty crazy myself, but this girl is completely insane. What’s that word people use, a social butterfly? A people pleaser? That’s Melody! I’m impressed, she managed to turn my father and everyone in the Fulton family into her own family, and suddenly I’m the outsider of my own family!”
Jace could not help but laugh. “Isn’t that pretty good? What you need now is definitely a person who can fix you.”
“Fix me? What is there to fix? I’m completely fine!”
Yoel continued, “But, Aunt Freya made the right decision to come to Mostal. She’s been making great progress in recovering. She looked better now, too. She’s always smiling.” “Is that so?” Jace said, “It’s probably because she had finally found someone who could make her smile.”
“Oh? You’re pretty up to date on things,” said Yoel.
“That Master Duncan, who is he?” Jace asked.
“I’m not too sure either, but everyone in Mostal seemed to have called him ‘Master’. Melody told me that it was because he didn’t want to expose his age. He’s a pretty fun guy, kind of like Frank from ‘It’s Always Rainy in Filladelfia’.
“Frank is a horrible, perverted man,” said Jace.
Yoel was rendered speechless for a brief moment. “Bro, you’re such a killjoy. If that’s how you define a man, you’re going to find it really hard to find any decent men.”
Yoel continued, “I’m just saying that Master Duncan is a funny man like Frank. I’m not saying he has all the characteristics of Frank. But all in all, I think he’s more dependable than Chief Spencer.”
Jace’s expression shifted upon hearing Lucas’ name.
“Lucas Spencer might show up in Mostal. If he does, make sure to kick him out, so he doesn’t harass my mother.”
