$15 million was not a very huge number to Lane Holdings as a company, but Hesper would lose a project that had been initiated out of thin air, and that would be coupled with a loss that cost $15 million.
Just thinking about it, Hesper felt that she had been played by Rickard and Rachael.
"It’s just $15 million, isn’t it? Just pay him the money and shut him up." Matthew’s creased brows were still tightly furrowed, and his tone sounded particularly decisive. "I don’t want you to stay connected to him in any form. You should know best that you’ve lost your judgment and rationale more than once in the past because of him. All the ongoing entanglements, debts, and repayments—as long as you two are still involved in any of the above, problems will surely emerge sooner or later."
Hesper definitely knew this. The more time passed, the more new memories she and Rickard created, lowering her hatred for him. What hurt her the most now was that she could neither hate Rickard nor fall in love with him again.
"Let me think about it first. Lane Holdings does need this project very much at the moment."
Originally, Rachael heard that she seemed to have brought about catastrophic consequences to the company, so she stood on the side in fear, not daring to speak. But when hearing about the three demands, she immediately curled her lips.
"It’s just three requests, isn’t it? At the end of the day, Rickard Duval isn’t that difficult to deal with, is he? Is there really a need for everyone to act so cautiously?" Rachael did not know who this person was at all, nor did she know anything about the competitive relationship between Duval Group and Lane Holdings. The only thing that she knew was that Hesper and Rickard were once husband and wife and were now divorced.
‘Hesper just pointed out that I’m not capable of seeing the overall situation and making the right decisions according to it, but now she’s disregarding the overall situation herself just because of her hatred and enmity with Rickard?
Seeing that Rachael did not care at all, Helen could not help but feel a little ashamed.
