Initially, Daniel, Simon, and Yvette were engaged in a casual conversation, but they immediately stopped when Melody appeared without warning. Then, they cast a glance at Theo and Sierra.

"Douglas, you're too dramatic." Melody chuckled gently, her voice laden with helplessness.

"That's a major understatement." Yvette pursed her lips and commented disdainfully. "He very nearly chased away Theo's wife just because you said you wanted to meet him. What do you want, Melody? Are you trying to be a homewrecker?"

Melody looked at Theo in embarrassment and explained in haste, "Theo, that's not what I meant. It's been a long time since I came back to the country. That's why I asked Douglas' help to ask everyone out."

Douglas couldn't stand anyone bullying Melody, and he cast a displeased glance at Yvette. "I've put up with you during our usual squabbles, but you're becoming nastier by the day. Stop it with the homewrecker bullshit and watch your tongue."

"Douglas, we're just chatting here. Don't be mean to Yvette," Simon warned coldly as he held Yvette, who was infuriated.

Douglas was aware that Simon was Yvette's yes-man. So, he didn't retort but instead cast a heartbroken glance at Melody.

"Theo, is this your wife?" A hint of longing flashed in Melody's eyes as she extended a hand to Sierra with a smile. "Ms. Shaw, I've heard a lot about you."

Sierra grinned and shook Melody's hand, but she released it immediately after.

"Melody, do you know her?" Douglas was a little curious.

The look on Daniel and the others' faces shifted a little when they heard what he asked. Melody cast an inexplicable gaze at Sierra as if it wouldn't be appropriate for her to answer Douglas.

Douglas couldn't stand seeing her like this. Raising his hand, he patted her on the shoulder, saying, "Speak your mind. We're all friends here."

Daniel had a good idea what she was about to say, and his eyes flickered. He took a step forward and chimed in with a grin, "That's enough. Melody is finally back in the country after a long time. You should show her around and take her sightseeing. We'll manage."
