A Trust-fund Baby novel Chapter 25

Diana stared at the entrance blankly, expecting Judson would show up, but he didn’t…

Endless sorrow and pain coursed through Diana’s body…

Jake noticed her sorrow and gulped a mouthful red wine, saying, “Diana, I really don’t care you were another guy’s wife. I really don’t care. Would you please give me a chance?”

Diana gave him a ghost smile and asked, “If I were your wife, would you be pleased to wash my feet? Would you be pleased to let me hit and curse you? Would you be pleased to be at my mercy?”

“Hmm…” Jake was speechless and dumbfounded before answering, “No man in the world could possibly meet your demands…”

Diana stood up, shaking her head. “No. There’s only one man can do. Thank you for your dinner, but I don’t think we are meant to be together. I’m leaving this city as I knew about nobody but my father here. Now that he passed away, I have to leave…”

Jake didn’t want her t leave. “Diana, are you serious?”

Diana nodded, “Yes. I’m going to find him who are willing to love me with all his heart and soul, who can always put up with my beating and cursing. I…I just want to ask him in his face about his promise that he would stay with me forever to make me laugh whenever I am upset. Now that I feel upset, where is he now?”

Diana’s tears streamed down as she rattled about Judson’s promise. Ignoring Jake’s attachment to her, she left with her luggage…

Jake could see that Diana was telling the truth, which disgraced him. He didn’t have the courage to persuade her into staying with him as his love for her wasn’t enough compared to her true love…

After walking out of the restaurant, Diana checked in a hotel in the late night. She texted a message to the chat group of her working staff that she left the city and gave the company to Sally.

The night in autumn is much longer. Diana lost in her thoughts for all the night. On the next morning, Bruce called her to meet her at noon.

After getting up, she went to River Park where Judson and she had been, and she stayed there for three hours. She didn’t leave until Bruce sent her a WeChat message that he had set off…

Bruce and Diana sat at table face to face in a suite of a luxury restaurant.

Bruce looked at Diana’s tired expression and furrowed his eyebrows. “You don’t look well. Let’s take you to hospital.”

Diana shook her head and her eyes were shifted to Bruce. “I’m fine, Mr. Hill. By the way, may I ask you a question?”

Bruce nodded and said, “Okay. Go ahead…”

“Are you Judson’s friend?” Diana asked him.

Bruce frowned and nodded. “Yep. He’s been my friend since college. As you know, a year ago, Judson asked me to help you with the mess. And he found me again last night…”

Diana gulped and pushed, “Could you please tell me where’s he now?”

Bruce shook his head. “He once said he was going back to Y City, but I’m not sure where he is now. And his phone has powered off for a while as he may change his phone…”

Diana’s heart clenched as she nodded.
