Chapter 1025

Sylvia stared at the indentation for a long while before standing up.

She had thoroughly investigated earlier; there were no other strange formations in the factory.

But why would someone throw an unidentified female corpse into the workshop?

It was too eerie.

Too strange.

"We need to go to the police station, let's go."

The factory manager immediately hesitated and stammered, "Miss Andrews, why are we going to the police station?"

Logan was also puzzled, "Why go there? If someone sees us, who knows what rumors they'll spread about us!"

Sylvia glanced at them silently, "If you don't want to go, I'll go by myself."

Her eyes deepened, "After all... sometimes the dead can speak. If I'm not mistaken, the coroner has already performed an autopsy on the deceased and investigated her cause of death."

"Well... alright then..." Logan reluctantly agreed, "Let's go, I'll drive you."

Seeing them about to leave, the factory manager looked around the workshop nervously. With his large beer belly, he quickly waddled after them, "I'm coming too, don't leave me alone."

It was laughable; the workers were on holiday, and the factory was empty except for Kris, the gatekeeper.

Seeing the three of them leaving, Kris panicked, "Am I supposed to guard the factory alone? No, no, Chairman, take me with you! I'm scared!"

Without waiting for a response, he tried to squeeze into the car.

The factory manager said earnestly, "Your duty is to guard the gate, Kris. Don't you have Lucky with you?"

Lucky was a dog Kris kept.

Despite his age, Kris was still strong and managed to push past the factory manager to sit in the back seat of the car first. "No, even with Lucky, it's not enough."

The factory manager squeezed in as well.

Sylvia sat in the front passenger seat and asked calmly, "Kris, did you lock the gate?"

"Yes, yes," Kris answered hastily.

Logan said nothing; he was in a foul mood.

The car drove forward as the sky gradually darkened.

There weren't many vehicles in the suburbs. The roads were flanked by dense forests and ravines, with occasional eerie animal calls from deep within the woods.

Except for Logan, who was focused on driving, both the factory manager and Kris shivered involuntarily at the animal sounds.

They stole a glance at Sylvia in the front seat. Her clear and beautiful face showed no expression.

Strong... she was indeed formidable.

The car's headlights cast a pale yellow light on the road.

For some reason, Logan turned on the high beams, perhaps for a sense of security.

After about an hour, they finally entered the city.

Kris and the factory manager in the back seat inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief.

The city was still bustling; even though it was past nine at night, it was still lively with traffic and people.

The atmosphere of life was very rich.

The car eventually stopped at the police station. Sylvia got out directly, followed by the three men.

Inside the police station, it was quiet; only a few officers were on duty at this hour.

Seeing them enter, one officer was momentarily stunned.

The leading woman was exceptionally beautiful. Her clear eyes exuded a faint determination. Despite her simple attire, her noble aura was unmistakable, invigorating the night-shift officer.

"Do you need any help?"

"We're from Longevity Pharmaceuticals. Has the autopsy report for the deceased come out? I'd like to know more about it," Sylvia said directly.

"Uh... I'll need to check with my superior." The officer didn't expect such a bold woman to directly ask for a report.

Wasn't she afraid?

But he had heard that Longevity Pharmaceuticals' chairman was a big shot. It must be her.

And she was indeed beautiful.

After making a call, he quickly returned. "My superior said you can check it. Please wait a moment."

He walked to the archive room and returned with a file folder a few minutes later.

Handing it to Sylvia, he sat back down.

"The deceased has been identified as Gloria Walsh, a barmaid at Joy KTV. We don't know why she ended up in your factory. We're still investigating. We also found some skin residue under her fingernails, likely from the suspect."

Sylvia listened while flipping through the file. She looked up at him, "So this girl was only 22 years old when she was brutally murdered."

The officer paused, "Uh, yes."

"She was strangled to death," Sylvia continued reading for a while before returning the report. "Can I see her body?"
