In the evening, Jasper brought over some light hospital meals for Jenna again. Brayden sat by her bedside, feeding her spoonfuls of food.
"Jenna, are you scared?" Sylvia asked, remembering Jenna's tears earlier in the day as she stared at her small face with almond-shaped eyes.
"No, just reminded of something from my childhood," Jenna replied softly.
"Your head is fine. Just rest and eat more to build up your strength," Sylvia advised.
Encouraged by Sylvia's words, Jenna picked up the bowl of porridge and drank it all in one go. As night fell, Sylvia and Franklin left to prepare for the closing ceremony awards show at their hotel.
Meanwhile in a police holding cell...
The man who had harmed Jenna finally broke under interrogation and revealed his accomplice - "It was a woman in her forties. Her assistant found me and paid me off."
"You received money into your account - was it from her assistant?"
"Yes... yes it was."
Late at night in a hotel room...
Allie had just removed her makeup when someone kicked open the door to her room. She jumped with fright as policemen stormed inside. "What do you want?"
"Miss Newman - we have evidence that you instructed someone to harm Miss Jenna intentionally. Please come with us." The police showed an arrest warrant.
"What are you talking about? You've got it all wrong! I don't even know that guy!" Allie protested indignantly.
"The evidence is clear; your assistant transferred money into his account on your behalf." The policeman spoke coldly: "Take her away!"
Allie rolled her eyes furiously. "This is ridiculous! You're framing me! I never gave him any money!"
But what could one woman do against several big men? Her cries for help echoed down the hotel corridor as they dragged Allie away: "Help me! This is a mistake! I'm innocent!"
Her voice grew louder until many guests opened their doors to see what was happening; Mrs. Ritter and Ashlyn were among them when they saw Allie being taken away by police officers.
"Auntie, what's going on?" Ashlyn caught up quickly. "Officer, you must have made a mistake," she said calmly as she walked over with Mrs. Ritter. "My sister couldn't have done anything wrong. She is about to marry into the Spencer family, and behind her is Aettosa's Spencer Group. Are you sure you want to arrest her?"
"The evidence is conclusive now, and without evidence we cannot arrest anyone," the police officer said coldly as he looked at the mother and daughter duo before commanding his subordinates to take Allie away.
Allie had calmed down by now; something was very wrong.
She didn't instruct that man at all, but Mrs. Ritter had mentioned two days ago that she had to sabotage Jenna's competition.
But why did everything lead back to her in the end?
Could it be that Mrs. Ritter was framing her?
Allie's mind raced fast, but right now she had no evidence to prove whether or not Mrs. Ritter was framing her.
However, she felt that her intuition was accurate.
Mrs. Ritter and Allie hadn't gotten along since they were young children.
The only solution right now was for Allie to contact the Spencer family immediately and get them involved in helping clear her name of any wrongdoing.
Allie pondered self-rescue options in silence within herself.
Mrs. Ritter watched as Allie was taken away by police officers before turning towards Ashlyn saying, "You go contact the Spencer Family immediately and see if they can help."
To Mrs. Ritter, Allie was just a stepping stone.
If she wasn't imprisoned then, there would be no way for their family or Ashlyn could establish connections with the Spencer family.
Once Allie went into prison, Ashlyn could keep in touch frequently with the Spencer family's young master.
When they contacted each other more often, it wouldn't be difficult at all when feelings started developing between them...
Mrs. Ritter's mind worked like magic thinking about this plan; it seemed perfect!
Sylvia and Franklin also found out about Allie being arrested soon enough...
"Is it really Allie?" Sylvia lowered her gaze, her feather-like eyelashes drooping, a faint shadow falling on her face.
Franklin tightened his grip on her hand. "I thought it was the Ritter family."
Sylvia looked up, with a glimmer of light in her eyes and a cold look. "I also thought it was the Ritter family. So when things go wrong, there must be something fishy going on."
She sneered again. "But we can't let the Ritter family off the hook either. They've been causing trouble for Jenna time and time again, so they have to pay for it eventually."
Franklin nodded. "Of course."
