After divorce, Ex-wife Revealed Identities novel Chapter 847

Chapter 847

Mrs. Wright slowly opened her tired eyes and weakly looked at Brayden, "Sylvia... Sylvia... Monica, Monica..."

Her gaze had almost no focus, and she reached out with limp hands to tightly grasp Brayden's hand. She murmured softly, "Monica... you're Monica's..."

"My Monica..."

Brayden was startled, "Mom, mom what's wrong? Who is your Monica?"

His heart suddenly tightened. Could it be that his mom had some romantic history before? Did she have a child out of wedlock? Or did he not know that his mom had another child before him? Maybe it was an older sister who died young.

Countless terrible and tragic thoughts flashed through Brayden's mind.

He couldn't help but imagine dozens of episodes of melodramatic TV dramas.

He even started to feel a little relieved that dad wasn't here ... if there really was some secret burden on Mom's shoulders, Dad would be so sad after being in love with Mom for a lifetime ...

Fortunately it was him who heard this and not Dad.

Just as he let out a sigh of relief and his heart hadn't fully calmed down yet - what did he hear next?

"Monica, I miss you so much."

Jenna also froze,"Godmother, who is Monica?"

Mrs. Wright gradually regained consciousness while feeling dizzy. She stared at the ceiling above her head for quite some time before finally recovering herself.

She felt sore all over her body and her stomach churned uncomfortably; the discomfort almost made her nauseous but she held back.

Her headache throbbed painfully as she lifted up her heavy arm to gently press on the spot between her eyebrows.

Seeing Mrs. Wright's painful expression, Brayden quickly reached over to help massage the spot between her eyebrows, "Mom, do you have a headache?"

"Mmm..." Mrs. Wright sighed comfortably,"My whole body feels uncomfortable."

Hearing Mrs. Wright's response, Brayden confirmed that his mother was truly awake now. He cautiously glanced at her, "Mom, you were calling out for someone named Monica earlier. What happened?"

"Monica..." Mrs. Wright's heart clenched painfully; the sensation surged through like a tornado once again. "She used to be my best friend."

Her eyes were red-rimmed, and tears slowly slid down from them into strands of hair along the sides of face.

"Godmother, why are you crying?" Jenna looked at Mrs. Wright's haggard and weak face with concern. "If you want to see her, I can help you call her and ask her to come visit you."

"It's impossible..." Mrs. Wright cried silently, tears streaming down her face like broken beads. "It's too late... I'm so bad for forgetting Monica."

She remembered everything now.

She remembered the beautiful memories, and the moment when Monica died - it made her heart ache almost spasmodically.

"Monica..." She was so young and full of life - how could she have died?

Mrs. Wright sobbed softly, more heart-wrenching than wailing.

Brayden was stunned after hearing what she said.

Mother's friend?

Dead?

It turned out that it wasn't just his imagination running wild - he finally understood who Monica was.

But Brayden still felt heavy-hearted about bringing up unpleasant past memories for his mother.

Jenna tenderly grabbed a few tissues to wipe away Mrs. Wright's tears. "Godmother, your main priority is to get better soon! If Monica has an afterlife in heaven, she would definitely want you to recover quickly too! When you're feeling better, we'll go together to pay our respects."

Mrs. Wright's eyes lit up as she tightly held onto Jenna's hand with all of her strength. "Jenna, you're right! You're absolutely right! I need to get better quickly so that I can go see Monica."

As she spoke, she burst into tears again like a lake bursting its banks once more.

How foolish and stupid must she be if only remembering having had a good friend but forgetting everything else about them for many years? She tried hard but every time ended up with a headache when attempting to recall those memories; eventually giving up altogether.

She cried sadly for quite some time until finally falling asleep in exhaustion while Jenna tucked in Mrs. Wright under the covers. Snuggling into Brayden's arms, Jenna rested her head on his chest. "Godmother must be very sad."

"There is nothing we can do about death," Brayden hugged Jenna tighter. "Promise me one thing though, Jenna, no matter what happens, don't leave me, okay?"
