Sylvia was taken aback. "What do you want them to do?"
Franklin took her hand and lightly kissed it. "You'll find out soon enough."
He looked down at her pretty face. She hadn't slept all night, and there was a faint blue tint in her eyes, but she still seemed alert.
"Or we could rest for a bit," Franklin suggested, turning to Paul. "We were up late last night; take some time off."
With that, he led Sylvia back to the lounge in her office.
Sylvia was exhausted now that the kids were safe and out of harm's way.
She snuggled into Franklin's arms and closed her eyes.
Franklin lay beside her on the bed, replaying everything that had happened since yesterday like a movie in his mind.
Especially when Sylvia jumped from the plane - he couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful she looked at that moment! It was breathtakingly stunning!
He gazed at Sylvia again; she looked peaceful with even breaths indicating deep sleep.
After watching for some time, Franklin slowly closed his eyes too.
Meanwhile outside another hospital room door stood James and Romeo - best friends who had just arrived together ready to enter.
"If it weren't for Sylvia and your brother," Romeo said angrily while staring at his phone screen. "We would have died already!"
"How dare they make a false countercharge?" James added furiously but tried to keep calm as well. "It's outrageous."
Some patients were awake while others remained asleep inside their rooms as they listened intently upon hearing what their parents had done.
Mauricio couldn't believe what he heard. "What does this have anything to do with you guys? I wanted to explore by myself! The decision wasn't forced upon us by you two."
"Never mind," Mauricio sighed before dialing his mother's number on his phone instead. "Mom? I'm awake now... Where did you go? You weren't here taking care of me?"
Mauricio's mother was one of those middle-aged women who asked for compensation. "My boy! You're awake! Mommy will be right there soon; Mommy is busy outside so you eat eat something first if you're hungry."
She hung up after saying this much leaving Mauricio with mixed feelings about everything happening around him lately...
Mauricio turned to James. "It was your brother and sister-in-law who saved me. I can't repay their kindness more. I should repay a life-saving favor, but my mom did something so shameful."
Half an hour later, several videos appeared on Twitter.
Almost all of the teenagers in the videos were wearing hospital gowns. They introduced themselves as one of the 18 hikers who decided to go on this adventure together, not because James and Romeo forced them to do so. "I'm already 18 years old, so I take full responsibility for everything I do," one teenager said. "Therefore... it's not true that James and Romeo are solely responsible for what happened. We appreciate everyone's concern for us, but it's just not like what you think."
"We planned this expedition as our graduation trip to end our college lives beautifully," another teenager explained in the video. "However, we encountered terrible weather conditions and extremely dangerous environments there. We almost froze to death if it weren't for Mr. Maskelyne and Miss Andrews saving us. I'm very grateful to them."
This is a clarification video.
It clarified the truth about what happened.
And they also slapped their parents' faces hard for causing trouble.
A boy named Tyshawn even recorded a video where he said a few words at the end. "Dad, Mom, you're kind-hearted, brave and honest people in my eyes. I don't understand why you participated in slandering my lifesavers too. I hope you'll stop hurting them. If it weren't for them, your son might be dead by now."
Meanwhile, on Morningbreeze website, the person in charge saw these crazy viral videos being shared online again, and he was dumbfounded.
He was so angry that he gritted his teeth, and rushed into meeting room, to scold those teenagers' parents, "How could you handle things like this? Why didn't you control your own kids? Letting them talk nonsense on social media?"
"What?" Mauricio's mother looked at him blankly. She usually worked at a small company earning money without high salary or broad knowledge. She only looked through certain social media platforms occasionally, and she had no idea about hot topics or trends online. Now, she just wanted to get her remaining money back from him
She not only had one child, but also gave birth to a second child a few years ago. Although Mauricio has already gone to college, her younger sister is only five years old. Therefore, the family burden is quite heavy.
So she was even more eager for money.
"What are you pretending not to understand? Let me tell you, if things go wrong, don't expect to get the rest of your money. You have to pay back the money I gave you before!" The person in charge almost pointed at them and scolded them.
Mauricio's mother was frightened. She didn't dare look directly at the person in charge and could only explain softly. "There must be some misunderstanding, Mr. Ritter, please don't be angry..."
It was completely different from her arrogant attitude when she argued with Sylvia and Franklin earlier.
