So, after being saved by Chloe, she was eager to repay the favor, even if it couldn’t be fully settled at once.
If Chloe refused, Luna wasn’t sure what else she could do.
“Chloe, since Mr. and Mrs. Moore are so sincere, you can just accept the gift.”
Admas looked at Chloe with a kind expression.
With Admas saying so, Chloe, feeling helpless, reluctantly accepted the diamond necklace.
Cathy saw her put away the box and scoffed lightly.
“I thought you were more principled, but it seems it’s just talk.”
Human nature often dictated that when one couldn’t attain something, they would belittle its worth.
But Chloe wasn’t in the mood to indulge anyone today. She leaned in close and whispered,
“Should I be thanking you? If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been able to save Ms. Moore, right? What do you think the Moore family would say if they knew you orchestrated this

whole thing? Would they still be grateful to the Shawn family?”
When the Moore family came to visit, they also regarded Chloe as part of the Shawn family.
But what if they found out Luna was locked in the storeroom because of Cathy…
Cathy’s face darkened, knowing Chloe was deliberately threatening her.
“Even if you did save her, you’re still nothing!”
Fuming, she turned and left, no longer confronting Chloe.
Finally, Chloe found herself in peace.
“Ms. Nelson, I’m hosting a banquet soon, and you’re welcome to come if you’re available!”
Luna extended the invitation to Chloe.
Her parties were different from those of other wealthy young ladies; she only invited those close to her.
It was essentially a private banquet.
Chloe nodded slightly, saying she’d definitely come if she were
free.
After the Moores left, it was getting late.

When he came out, he was clad only in a white bathrobe, loosely tied at the front, revealing his well–defined chest and pale skin.
Despite his usual stern face, Michael’s skin was fairer than many
women’s.
Chloe glanced at him as water dripped from his hair down his. chest and instinctively turned her head away.
“Find another excuse to sleep elsewhere tomorrow, or I can go instead!”
For the past few days, they had done anything not to sleep together.
But today, Admas had all the guest room bedding taken out for cleaning and said it wouldn’t be back until tomorrow…
Chloe sighed, speechless.
Then she saw Michael walking towards her, his gaze somewhat murky and unclear.
Chloe startled. “What… what are you doing?”
Michael calmly reached behind her and picked up a nightgown.
