“I can explain what happened today. I brought her to the hospital because I did not want her to be mad at you. I know you accidentally pushed her into the water in a moment of panic. Lucy has promised that she would not blame you.” 

Michael thought he had handled everything well, unaware of how ridiculous Chloe found his words. 

“You asked her to forgive me? Do I need her forgiveness?” 

Chloe pointed at herself and questioned him. 

“She fell in on her own. I did not push her. Why do I need to be forgiven?” 

The air froze instantly, and the three of them remained silent. 

After a while, Lucy spoke up, “Michael, I slipped and fell into the swimming pool by accident. It has nothing to do with Chloe. Do not be angry.” 

Obviously, Michael was not going to believe her now.
