After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael) novel Chapter 384

Chapter 384 Heart Racing

Michael glanced at Emma. "Bring me another set of cutlery."

Emma cheerfully complied and quickly handed him a new set.

Michael served himself a bowl of cream of mushroom soup from Chloe's side, completely ignoring the soup Rosie had prepared for him.

Rosie felt utterly humiliated, unable to swallow her anger.

She was about to speak when Chloe interrupted, "Rosie. You are a nutritionist. If you also have to do the cook's job, the salary is really too little. The Shawn family certainly doesn't exploit its employees, so you don't need to do any other work at home."

Chloe gave her plenty of face, not exposing her ulterior motives.

Chloe could guess why Rosie insisted on cooking just for Michael.

"From now on, I'll eat whatever Chloe eats. There's no need to cook separately for me. I hired you to be her nutritionist."

Michael took a sip of the rich cream of mushroom soup, his tone indifferent.

Rosie's hand clenched tightly at her side. "I was just concerned that with Mrs. Shawn possibly being pregnant, what she eats might not suit you, Mr. Shawn."

After all, pregnant women needed highly nutritious food, which could sometimes be overly rich.

"I quite enjoy it."

Michael showed no appreciation, and after speaking, he forked another piece of chicken from Chloe's plate.

After dinner, Michael suggested they take a walk.

Chloe didn't want to go. She just wanted to lie down and rest.

Besides, they would be sleeping together tonight. After being separated for so long, she found it a bit unsettling to suddenly share a bed with him again.

"Walking more is good for the baby."

Michael said this while putting on his jacket.

Chloe had no reason to refuse. All the servants in the house were watching.

So, reluctantly, she followed him outside.

As soon as they stepped out, she spoke irritably, "The pregnancy is fake. I don't need to be good for the baby. Mr. Shawn, aren't you getting too into character?"

Although she knew there was indeed a baby inside her, she was a lazy mother who just wanted to lie down after eating.

Lotus Manor was an upscale residential area with excellent greenery.

Michael looked straight ahead. "You're physically weak. Even without the baby, walking more is good for your health."

Chloe glared at him, feeling he was deliberately making her uncomfortable.

As they strolled along the sidewalk, Chloe found it wasn't as unpleasant as she had imagined.

The late summer breeze was quite refreshing.
