Chapter 440 Buy a New Apartment
"Drop the act!" Chloe said, feeling a little aggrieved.
"Don't you know that I didn't take anything away when I divorced you? If the bracelets are your family heirloom, you should have returned them to Admas so that Victoria wouldn't have come to mess with me today. Michael, I don't deserve to be bullied by your family!"
Michael's shoulders slumped as he heard Chloe's words.
"I'm sorry. I didn't expect her to come to ask you for the bracelets."
Admas really treasured those bracelets.
However, he gave them to Chloe without hesitation. So, Michael didn't think they were something very valuable.
Given that Michael's mother had passed away due to childbirth complications, and he himself had never met her, it was impossible for him to know that the bracelets had been passed down from his mother.
Chloe sniffed and expressed, "If you really feel sorry, then tell your family to stay away from me!"
Then, she left without giving Michael any chance to explain.
In the evening, when Chloe returned to Urban Lane, she saw Candy and Jessica familiarizing themselves with the software, and Quinn was working beside them.
Suppressing the weariness etched across her face, Chloe went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Looking at the underwear she had placed in the basin, she suddenly became troubled.
Before she divorced Michael and lived in Lotus Manor, Chloe's life was more convenient.
Now that they were divorced, she would have to live in the house at Urban Lane from now on.
Underwear and other items must always be hung out to dry, as leaving them in a damp or dark environment could potentially lead to gynecological issues.
Candy was not the problem, but Chloe felt uneasy about the others.
Quinn came here almost every day, and so did Jessica.
Chloe felt awkward to hang her panties and underwear out in the open.
The balcony was connected to the living room, and others could see her underwear at a glance.
Even though they were friends, she still felt embarrassed.
So, after sending Jessica and Quinn away today, she said to Candy, "I want to buy another apartment."
"Did you win the lottery?" Candy asked.
The cost of the apartment in Urban Lane, including the furnishings, amounted to approximately seven or eight million dollars.
It had cost almost all Chloe's money.
Although she had made a lot of money from taking orders during this period, acquiring a new apartment still posed a financial challenge for Chloe.
After all, every inch of land in that area carried a high value.
