Chapter 517 Asserting Control

"Why are you so late?"

Candy mouthed the words while gesturing. Michael didn't want to explain much and simply said it was because of the traffic jam.

As he spoke, his gaze landed on William sitting in front of them.

Candy rolled her eyes. He and Jessica were exactly the same, both instantly locking onto William with an intense, unwavering gaze.

She tugged Michael's baseball cap down over his eyes and quickly said, "Do you even know how to stalk properly?"

Michael pressed his lips together, determined to hold back for Chloe's sake.

At that moment, William leaned in close to Chloe and whispered something in her ear, making everyone behind them tense up.

Chloe nodded, and William stood up and left the theater.

As soon as he was gone, Chloe turned around, counted heads, and noticed an extra person.

She couldn't help but wonder, "Who is he?"

She figured it was probably just another moviegoer, but with his cap pulled so low, could he even see the screen?

"Chloe, what's going on? Where did he go?"

"The restroom."

Everyone's eyes widened in alarm. "Is he planning something?"

Chloe felt a shiver of fear.

"Just keep an eye out. If he tries anything, I'll throw this lemonade at him."

She had purposely not drunk it, just in case.

Before Candy could respond, William returned, making everyone lower their heads quickly.

He sat back down and leaned towards Chloe again.
