Michael gave them all enough patience.
Until now, he hadn't done anything to Lucy.
"She can give birth to whomever she wants willingly. She doesn't treat herself as a human being, and I don't have to save her."
With that, Michael hung up without hesitation.
Chloe didn't think Owen's words were quite right.
It would stand to reason that Abel would care about Lucy's body by now since he wanted her so badly to carry a child for him. But why did he let her drink with clients or do things that would harm the fetus?
Was it really the baby in Lucy's belly that he wanted?
Chloe remembered that Abel had a son.
"Did Abel's son get cancer?"
Hearing Chloe's words, Michael remembered that Abel's son had found out about cancer a couple of years ago and had been in the hospital.
"It seems so."
Lucy had said earlier that they were likely to die together.
She had also said that the Lovato family's possessions would all be hers by then.
"What kind of cancer?"
Chloe asking so clearly made Michael serious.
He didn't know about that. Aside from the Kranton Bank, the Lovato family's interactions with Paramount Airlines were virtually nonexistent. So Michael didn't care what the disease Abel's son had was.
Chloe always felt that something wasn't right about this. But she couldn't figure it out at the moment, so she had to keep waiting.
James really couldn't stay in the hospital after so many days. Luckily, his wounds were recovering fairly well, so the doctors agreed to let him go home to recuperate.
Knowing he was going home, Vicky and Maggie followed him.
He had mobility problems, so he couldn't drive them away.
Chloe ended her day early and went to the hospital to help him pack. He signaled Chloe with his eyes.
She knew what he meant but pretended not to see it. She looked down as she organized the stuff and said, "Are your eyes uncomfortable?"
"Chloe, you did that on purpose, didn't you?"
James was getting pissed off.
"I can't handle them. Please don't count on me."
She finally got out of it, not wanting to become James' shield again when she got to Mamaica.
"James, let me help you down. The car is already here."
"Who are you to help him? You're a divorced woman. But James hasn't been married yet."
Vicky kept using that sarcastic line with Maggie ever since she learned that Maggie was divorced and unable to have children.
Maggie kept her eyes red and silent every time, her eyes full of aggravation.
But for the sake of James, she still came even if Vicky always targeted her.
