"Are you... going to be bothered by having too much money?" Olivia Xia asked.
Xavier Si lazily smiled, playing with the glass in his hand. His devilish face shone alluringly in the lamplight, almost bewitching Olivia.
She was almost thrown off balance by his demeanor.
She shook her head, trying to stay composed, and stood up, looking at him seriously.
"I don't know how many people you've wronged before me, but now that we're married, I hope you can turn over a new leaf and live an honest life. It's okay to be a bit less well-off as long as you work hard, make progress, and strive continually. One day, life will get better."
"I don't expect you to make me rich, but at the very least, your character should not have such a significant flaw. Do you understand what I mean?"
"Furthermore, as per our agreement, if you ever do morally wrong things for money again, we will immediately divorce."
Xavier Si looked at Olivia with a bewildered expression. He had no idea what morally wrong things he had done again.
Fortunately, Olivia didn't keep him in the dark for too long and continued, "Tell me, how much money did you take from them last night?"
"What money?" Xavier Si couldn't continue to pretend...
This was no longer a misunderstanding; it was an accusation, a defamation, an insult to his character.
"You helped them tarnish my reputation, how much did they pay you?" Olivia asked bluntly.
Xavier Si's eyes showed a hint of understanding. So, she had been set up last night?
No wonder she had eagerly approached him as soon as they entered the room...
Xavier Si's expression softened a bit. "I didn't take any money; it was truly an accident last night."
"No money? Then how did you end up in that room?" Olivia furrowed her brow, clearly not believing his words.
She was even thinking about how to divorce this man as quickly as possible if he turned out to be an incorrigible villain with such a flawed character.
Xavier Si sighed and beckoned her to come closer.
Olivia, acting on a whim, approached him, and he opened a small video on his phone – the hotel room surveillance footage she couldn't access.
Olivia gave him a strange look, wondering why her attempt to access the hotel's system hadn't yielded this footage. It turned out that the hotel staff had cleared it in advance.
That explained a lot.
After watching the surveillance footage, Olivia was dumbfounded.
She had walked into the wrong room last night?!!! Unbelievable!
The room number given to her by Steven Lu was 33, but she entered room 35!
Before, Olivia had only suspected that she was drugged because she felt unwell and couldn't figure out where she had been drugged.
But after watching the surveillance footage, Olivia was certain that she had indeed been drugged.
Otherwise, how could she have ended up gasping for breath in the hotel room and... tearing her own clothes?
The hotel was fine; she hadn't been wrong. The problem must have been with the car Steven Lu had sent to pick her up...
Olivia's face turned bright red, and she picked up the glass on the table and took a sip of water. "You're a waiter, why do you stay in a hotel?"
"Luxury!"...
Olivia returned to her seat and noticed Xavier Si looking at her strangely. It was then that she realized that she had used the glass he had been drinking from...
"Cough, cough, cough..." Olivia coughed intensely due to embarrassment, wishing she could find a hole to hide in.
Fortunately, the restaurant staff quickly brought their meal to the table.
Olivia Xia started to savor the Buddha Jumps Over the Wall placed in front of her.
