Chapter 9 Invitation to the Banquet
Leah turned around and saw two people standing behind her.
One was Sharon wearing a white dress. The girl standing next to her was Maria Dixon, Sharon's best friend.
Leah felt ridiculous. She responded to Maria's words in the same contemptuous tone, "Do I know you? Does this have anything to do with you?"
"Ha, I was right. Why don't you answer my question?" Maria had a sarcastic smile on her face.
Leah glanced at Maria sideways. She walked directly into the store without saying anything.
Before she went in, Maria blocked her way.
"Are you deaf, or are you scared of answering me? Haha, now I finally understand why Mr. Worthington divorced you. You are rude and uneducated. Sharon is superior to you in all aspects."
Leah turned around and looked directly at her. "A polite and educated person like you stand in my way and bark in public like a stray dog. Congratulations on! You won."
"You..." Maria was so angry that she wanted to refute it, but Sharon stopped her.
"Maria."
Hearing Sharon's voice, Maria snorted coldly. She said nothing more and retreated to Sharon.
Sharon stepped forward with a soft smile on her face. She looked gentle and non-aggressive.
"Miss Wilson, I'm sorry. Maria is straightforward. Please don't be angry with her."
Leah snorted lightly, "Of course, I won't argue with her. After all, if a dog bites me, I can't bite it back."
"Who are you calling a dog?" Maria was almost going crazy.
Leah shrugged indifferently. "I'm calling a dog."
"You! You..." Maria was so angry that she couldn't even finish her words.
Sharon patted Maria's hand to comfort her. She still smiled and looked at Leah.
