Chapter 221
Annalise was shocked beyond belief. Her hand was trembling when she pulled it back.
“Noah, what did you just call her?”
Annalise was still in a daze, but before she could get her answer, she was shoved to one side by Noah.
Madeline saw that Annalise had let go of her, so she continued walking, but her hand was abruptly grabbed by Noah.
“My wife, you’re hurt!”
“This is none of your business.” Madeline wanted to retrieve her hand impatiently, but she was stopped by the adamant Noah.
“What do you mean? You’re my wife. No one in this world will care about you as much as I do.” Noah held Madeline’s arm tenderly, and his brows were knitted into a frown. He was checking on her arm with great concern and he appeared to be very nervous.
“Noah, your fiancée is still right here, do you realize that? Do you think it makes sense to put up such a fake front?” Madeline stared at Noah with disappointment in her eyes.
She could not figure out her feelings sometimes. She should be facing him without any emotion, but when Noah entered her field of vision, she couldn’t help but feel wronged.
She even wanted to cry.
“What ‘fiancée’ are you talking about?” Noah was a little lost.
“Mr. Quincy, Ms. Solace here claimed that she’s your fiancée. She brought her men and came to our association and exerted violence. The proof is right in front of you.” Albert put in a timely comment to flame the fire.
“Ms. Madeline’s arm was hurt precisely by your fiancée’s assistant.”
Albert dragged Liam, who was howling on the floor, to his feet and added even more evidence to the whole argument. He was doing that to see how Noah would respond.
If Mr. Quincy’s heart was with another woman, Albert would not let him continue to mistreat her.
“Wayne!”
“Sir, I’m here!”
“Go ask him which hand he has used to hurt Madeline. You know what to do.”
“Yes, sir!”
Wayne was watching the whole thing like a bystander, and he was so anxious that he felt like he must do something.
Who were those people? They had come to harm Mr. and Mrs. Quincy’s relationship, not to mention actually hurting Mrs. Quincy physically.
Now, he had a chance to show what he could do. He must stand up for Mr. and Mrs. Quincy!
Seeing that Wayne was approaching him, Liam immediately clambered to beg for forgiveness.
“No! Don’t come near me! Ms. Solace, save me now!”
Despite his cry for help, Wayne did not even interrogate him as he proceeded to break both of his arms.
Then, he turned around to report to Noah, “Sir, I reckon that he has lost his mind because of the shock. There’s no need to ask him whether he has used his left or right hand to hurt Madeline.”
“Noah, are you saying that this woman is your wife?” When Annalise saw Wayne giving Liam some punishment, anger immediately rose in her heart. However, she couldn’t just have an outburst of anger in front of Noah, so she pretended to be ignorant about the situation.
“Yes, she is indeed my wife. I wonder how you have offended my wife, Ms. Solace?”
“It’s… it’s a misunderstanding, I won’t mind…” Annalise thought that Noah was apologizing on behalf of Madeline, so she wanted to take this opportunity to allow things to come to a close.
However, she stopped talking abruptly and realized that Noah was actually questioning her.
She could not believe it!
“Noah, I came here just to submit my application, but I received a cold shoulder and I was also being framed too. Liam couldn’t stand to see me getting bullied, that was why he had led those men to get at them. I really don’t know that this woman here is your wife. I’m sorry for my mistake.”
Annalise explained carefully but deep down, she felt like she was the most pitiful woman in the world.
Madeline watched her antics and almost couldn’t stifle her laughter.
This woman really had the acting chops. With just a few words, she swayed the direction of the conversation and put the blame on her again.
She claimed that Madeline was the one who first framed her with baseless accusations, which led to her men thrashing the whole place and acting violently.
