Aggressive wife novel (Madeline and Noah) novel Chapter 464

CHAPTER 464 YOU’RE MY WIFE

"Even if our relationship hasn't got to that point, this is a unique situation. We have a common enemy to face together." Noah was forced to realign his expectations and continue on his long journey for his wife's hand.

This should be nothing compared to the five years she had been gone.

"Has it ever crossed your mind that this has nothing to do with you, Mr. Quincy?" Madeline spoke with slight hesitation.

It didn't matter if it were an otherworldly evil or someone's machinations. It was directed at her. Noah just happened to be the collateral.

Noah could get out of the situation unscathed.

"You're my wife. I feel hurt even if you only have a hair out of place. What do you mean it has nothing to do with me?" He gritted his teeth and looked helplessly at Madeline.

She felt guilty as he stared her down but she couldn't afford to lose her footing here. She held her head up high. "Are you stupid? If this charm is something bad, you'll die. You got into accidents trying to save me. Aren't you scared?"

Noah sighed. Before Madeline could respond to it, he took her into his arms and rested his chin on her head. "We've experienced so many similar experiences. You should know what I'm afraid of."

I'm afraid that you would leave and take the children with you. I'm not afraid of stepping into hellfire for you.

She'd be touched if she could hear his inner thoughts.

"Alright. I was the one in the wrong. I'm sorry." She solemnly apologized to him.

She had no reason to reject a man who was so willing to risk his life for her. He cared for and comforted her through their experiences.

"Wherever you need to be, I'll come with you. You are not to leave the villa without permission and stay out of sight, okay?"

Madeline nodded. If he insisted on accompanying her, the two of them would become bait. It was an option far better than just staying home.

When both left the room, Elise could tell the atmosphere between them had changed.

Noah made a phone call Elise could even get a word in about being a third wheel.

It was the butler. Before he made his way to Madeline, he had specifically instructed the housekeeper to make sure the children did not leave the home. It only took moments for Mackenzie to go missing.

"Mackenzie's missing." That was all he said before he dragged Madeline to the parking lot.

Elise took off her work clothes and ran after them.

"I'll come with you to find her."

Madeline attempted to contact Mackenzie on the way but the girl never answered any calls.

It wasn't until they pulled into the Maple Forest Villa that she answered.

"Where did you go? Do you have any idea how worried we are?!" Madeline yelled into the phone in anguish.

Mackenzie was confused by her mother's reprimands. Noah took over to ask for her current location and explained that she had scared her mother to tears.

"I'm sorry, Mommy. I forgot to tell the butler."

Mackenzie was fairly innocent. Her film time was fixed every day for ease of learning. She would leave for the film set by herself at 3.30 pm every day.

It just so happened that the security guards were rotating shifts and failed to see her and allowed her to leave without incident. That was how they ended up in their current predicament.

Mackenzie already had a feeling that something was off. She pretended to not notice because she was so young. The less she caused trouble for her parents, the better.

"Drive slower, Daddy. Don't speed. I'm still on set and haven't gone anywhere," she said nervously to Noah.

Noah nodded and hung up before turning to Madeline. "Don't blame the kid. Keep your anger in check when we get there."

"Do I look angry to you? Sure, you're the only one who knows how to handle the kids! From now on, you can be the one who helps them with their homework!" Madeline was already upset but Noah's words only left her even more restless.

A wave of anger rushed over her. Her only way to vent was by raising her voice.

Noah still thought she was cute despite her spitting fire and simply chose not to argue.

Madeline eventually thought she was being a little too childish and tried to change the topic.

He simply smiled.

She eventually fell asleep and had a dream where she went back ten years into the past when she reunited with Noah on the beach.

It was just that the focus was not on him in her dream but on the two people standing by the reef.

This time, she saw them clearly but they didn't seem corporeal. They looked like projected images.

She didn't delve into it because she noticed the woman wearing a lucky charm. It was the exact same one she had on her.

Her gaze went from the lucky charm to the woman's face but before she got far enough who she was, she awoke from her dream. Noah woke her up when they finally arrived on the filming set.

Noah met her resentful gaze and playfully tapped her nose. He couldn't bear to wake her up when she was sleeping so soundly, but he had to ensure the safety of both the children and their mother.

He wanted to find Mackenzie and keep Madeline within sight. That left him with no choice but to wake her.

Mackenzie's assistant helped Madeline out of the vehicle. "Mackenzie still has one more scene left to finish. Feel free to wait a while. It shouldn't take long."

Both Madeline and Noah got themselves a cup of tea and watched their daughter on set.

Mackenzie was a natural at what she did. Just a single shot was enough for her but the actor who partnered with her was far below her skill level. They forgot their lines or fail to act in a satisfactory way. It was one NG after another.

Madeline almost wondered if she was doing it on purpose to mess with Mackenzie.

Just as Mackenzie was getting exhausted by several NGs, someone quietly approached Madeline and whispered to her, "Are you interested in acting? The director would like to invite you to participate in the show."
