Aggressive wife novel (Madeline and Noah) novel Chapter 465

CHAPTER 465 WHY ARE YOU GLARING AT ME?

"Mommy, say yes. Please say yes. You acted before!" The moment Mackenzie was done with her scene, she bounded toward her mother to beg her to take the role.

The actress who she had been partnered with was bad. It was becoming annoying to have to keep reshooting the scene over and over again.

Mommy would kill it in this role!

"You acted before?" Noah raised a brow. He only knew so little about how she lived in the five years she was gone.

She used to be a timid rabbit but five years had changed her. She now had a whole arsenal of skills at her disposal. He also heard how a world-renowned designer had dropped by Elise's boutique and seemed to have a good relationship with his wife.

She can design clothing and act?

What else can she do?

Madeline nodded absent-mindedly while reading the script. Her daughter was a child star. What's wrong with her doing the same? If she hadn't been so intent on revenge back then and lacked interest in acting, she would've become a big name.

Noah noticed how enraptured she was by the script and stopped bothering her. He instead had Mackenzie find out what movies she had starred in.

Mackenzie hadn't just found a movie. She pulled up a variety show that Madeline was also a part of.

Noah didn't feel much watching the movie because Madeline's scenes were few and far between. There were a few emotional lines thrown around but there was no physical contact.

He was outright furious by what he saw on the variety show. It was a competitive show where Madeline and Mackenzie were left far behind the other teams. They then teamed up with a foreign man whose name he didn't know but was famous abroad.

Madeline couldn't reach a place in the next scene. The man carried her. If she couldn't do something, he would take her with him. The amount of physical contact they had was more than what he and she had for most of the year combined.

He could clearly see the way that man looked at her!

Mackenzie watched her father clench his fists so hard that his veins were bulging out of his arm, and tugged at her mother to show her. Madeline waved her off to express that she was busy.

Daddy and Mommy are so worrisome.

Mackenzie could only sigh and inched closer to her father to wait for something funny to happen. When it did, she burst out laughing because her father was glaring at her.

"Why are you glaring at me, Daddy?" She clasped her hands to her chest. She hadn't done anything wrong. There was nothing for her to fear.

"Do you know this man?" Noah jabbed a finger at the man on screen and asked.

Mackenzie nodded. "I do. We worked together in multiple shows."

"When?"

"After we participated in the variety show. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be as famous as I am now. I wouldn't have so many resources either. Mommy says he's a valuable person in my acting career." Mackenzie was visibly beaming when talking about him.

It didn't matter to her that her father hated it.

He remained sullen. His words were tinged with jealousy. "What do you mean by 'valuable person'? You don't think you can become a Netherwood star on your own?"

She wanted so badly to say that the entertainment industry wasn't as simple as he thought. It was complicated. It wasn't necessarily the good actors that were given resources. His anger made her change her tune. "Of course, I can! Whose daughter do you think I am?"

Noah was pleased by her words and smiled. He picked her up and gave her a kiss.

"Why don't you like him, Daddy?" His face changed whenever the man was brought up. The shift was so quick, it looked intangible.

"Remember this, Zeke. Mommy is daddy's wife. Only Daddy can hug and kiss her. Everyone who comes close to her is harassing her."

If Thomas were here, he'd ask, "Am I harassing Mommy if I hug and kiss her?"

No matter how emotionally intelligent she was, her fatigue made her fail to realize what was happening until she heard his words. Was her father jealous?

He didn't like when other men got close to her mother but everyone was close to one another abroad. It was common to kiss hands and hug as greetings. Noah's blood pressure would be sky-high if he witnessed it all.

"Ms. Grant? It's been a while." Before the father and daughter could finish their conversation, a middle-aged pot-bellied man approached. The man then hugged her when she stood up.

Mackenzie threw herself right at the man before Noah could even muster a frown. "It's been so long, Mr. Wylder!"

The man was taken aback by the child's darling looks and also tried to hug her.

He felt a sharp gaze pin him in place. It was an experience akin to sitting on pins and needles.

He looked up to see Noah staring right at him and looking ready to lynch him.

His eyes were blades that scraped at flesh.

The man stood upright and cheerfully greeted Noah. "Mr. Quincy. I finally put a name to the face."

Noah turned a deaf ear. He took Mackenzie back into his arms and grabbed his wife's hand and led them to the car.

Madeline turned around and smiled apologetically at the middle-aged man.

The man offered a stiff smile in return as he brushed cold sweat off his forehead. He must've been out of his mind to so openly hug both his wife and his daughter right in front of him.

It was thanks to his cowardice that he pulled away just in time. He would've had to say goodbye to his limbs otherwise.

Madeline wanted to grumble when she got into the car. How could he have been so rude to her investor? She was stared down before she could even open her mouth.

What is it this time? What did I do?

"Why are you glaring at me?"

Mackenzie thought her words sounded familiar and realized those were exact words to her father moments ago.
