Chapter 19

"Ahmm" someone cleared their throat and I immediately pushed Ozymandius off me.

There stood a man in his late 60's and he could totally be recognized as the late king. He was very well built just like Ozymandius and had the same features like Ozymandius and Alexander.

He stood there, an amused look on his face.

My face was red of embarrassment. This was the most awkward moment of my life.

I felt Ozymandius grasp my hand and lead me to his father.

"Father this is Pearl, my mate." said Ozymandius, confidence radiating from his tone.

"Hello sir, nice to meet you." I said, motioning my hand forward.

He didn't reply. He just looked at me. His face showing no emotion and on the other side my heart was racing. I shifted uncomfortably from one foot to another.

And then suddenly out of nowhere, he hugged me. I heard a chuckle emit out of him.

"Hello Pearl." he stated after breaking the hug, a smile still tugging his lips.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. No need for the formalities, call me Jonah. And we don't need to have this formal relationship, you are my daughter now." he stated.

I nodded smiling. His words soothed me from inside.

"Now Ozymandius, I would like to talk to you." Jonah stated.

Ozymandius gave me a look and walked out of the room.

And just as he walked out, Alexander made his entry. He too was wearing a tuxedo except that it was grey.

"Someone looks good today." I complimented.

"Thank you luna." he stated with an additional wink.

"Ugh not again with luna shit!"

"So how much time is left till the ball starts?" I asked him.

"Umm I think 40 minutes." he said looking at his bare wrist.

"Good so I need a favour from you." I asked him.

This had been something that had been bothering me for some time since now and this was the best time to take action.

"Can you take me to the prisons right now?" I asked him.

"What?" he asked totally surprised.

"Yes, you heard right." I replied.

"But why?" he asked.

"I'll tell you when we reach there."

"But I have not even agreed to it!" he said.

"Unless you want me to tell Ozymandius about the credit card..." I continued.

"Ozymandius is going to kill me!" he whined.

"That would be so cool!"

I held my dress in my hands as I walked down the steps to the prisons.

"I still think this is not a good idea." Alexander told me.

I ignored him and led him to the cell where I had seen the girl.

She was still there. Her clothes were extremely dirty. I could spot dried tears on her face in the dark as she sat on the cold floor.

" Open the door. " I asked the guard.

He did so and I walked in while Alexander tottered behind me.

"Omg! why is there a child in here?" he suddenly asked.

"That's what I wanted to ask you. Why is she here?" I replied back.

I took a step forward towards the girl who had now stood up. She looked like she was scared of me and moved some steps back until her back hit the wall.
