Alpha Maximus
Alex and Bella sprint into our bathroom, hearing my screams and calls for help.
‘Bella! Get the doctor. Alex! Help me keep her in the water!’ I yell. Hope is thrashing around, trying to free herself from my grip. She’s hot to touch and the cold water isn't helping at all.
‘Stop the fire!’ She screams. ‘It burns!’ She yells.
‘What's wrong with her Alpha?’ Alex asks, concerned.
‘I don't know. I thought she had a fever, but the cold water isn't doing anything! I don't know what to do,’ I panic.
‘Kiss her!’ Alex says.
‘What?’ I ask, tilting my head.
‘When she was in her weird trance your kiss snapped her out of it,’ he explains.
I kiss her lips, and the moment I do, sparks fly through my body, and I know she feels them too. She stops thrashing around, and cups my face, not wanting us to part. Her tears drip onto my cheek. I hold her closer, and comfort her as much as I can, and we part. I caress her face, and she lies, exhausted, in my arms.
Alex turns the water off and brings some towels to cover her. He puts his hand on her forehead.
‘She isn't burning up anymore. The kiss worked,’ he says.
‘Now, we just have to figure out what’s going on,’ I say.
‘Here, hold her while I dry and redress myself,’ I say, handing Hope to Alex, drenched. Alex holds her in his arms and I go into my room.
I remove my wet clothes and dry myself off, putting black trousers, and a white, long-sleeved, cuffed shirt on. I call out for Alex to bring her into the room, lying dry towels on the bed.
‘Lie her down here and see where that doctor is,’ I order. Alex lies her on the bed and leaves the room. I remove her wet dress, dry her with the towels, then dress her in a fresh nighty. I put her in bed under the covers, sit by her side, and hold her hand, until the doctor arrives with Bella and Alex.
‘What took you so long?’ I snap at the doctor.
‘I'm so sorry, Alpha. I was caught up with other patients,’ he replies.
My fist slams into the bedside table as Chaos tries to take over.
‘I don't care if someone is dying, if I call you, you are to come immediately!’ I growl. I’m standing there facing them with black eyes; Chaos is fighting me to kill the doctor.
‘Chaos! That's enough!’ Alex growls. ‘Let Alpha Max in or we won't be able to help Hope,’ he warns.
After a moment of hesitation, Chaos retreats. My eyes return to their natural colour, and I exhale, relieved. I sit down on the bed.
‘Doctor, please do your check up before Chaos tries to take over again,’ I say. The doctor nods, approaches the bed, and checks all of Hope’s vital signs.
‘What's wrong with her?’ I ask.
‘That's the thing, Alpha. I can't find anything wrong. Everything seems to be fine,’ he says, confused. I look at Alex and Bella who shrug.
‘Thank you, doctor.’ I say, and he leaves. I look at Hope, and at her ruby heart she claims belongs to her parents.
‘Bella, stay here with her. I need to have an urgent meeting with Alex in my office,’ I mumble, leaving the room. Bella nods, and Alex follows me into the office, I take my seat and stare solemnly at the desk.
‘Are you okay?’ Alex asks.
‘No, I'm not okay, while Hope is like this. She said some things, some strange things, and I’m trying to figure it all out.’
‘What did she say?’
‘She thinks Alpha Cal is her grandfather,’ I say, annoyed.

Very weak crapy beginning, hope it gets better. Full of clichés and jumps months ......
