Alpha’s Surrogate Chapter 61
61. Now the real game begins
The big guest house where the Blue Moon Pack had been housed was located on the northern side of the Sirius Bright pack house. But the sound of a growling gradually grew louder from one of the rooms on the floor above, Petra had entered her room a moment ago.
The sound of a door slamming had been accompanied by an angry roar that mercifully had merely resonated in the closed room but covered the sound of the blonde’s shattering the heart. The entire room had become a hive of activity as she threw things around as it was the only way she could relieve her stress and rage at the time. The reason for her chaotic emotions was not because she had to stay in the guest house or due to Xavier’s poisoned barbs. Something else had set her wicked yet sensitive mind
ablaze.

She sat on the floor after destroying her whole room and personal staff, which had taken her a grand total of fifteen minutes. Her hair slid down over her face, preventing the gleaming moonlight from illuminating her face. She had never turned on the light in the room when she had entered, making everything in the room including herself appear rather frightening as she took deep and furious breaths while staring at the Moon. The Moon! That was the reason! That was the catalyst for everything!
She’d wounded her palm badly on a piece of glass, yet it felt insignificant. After seeing Xavier and Kiara together, the pain in her neck had completely gone away.
“Soulmate? A second chance mate!!”
These words were a curse to her. She had never anticipated such a harsh slap to be delivered to her by the hand of the Moon Goddess.. Xavier finding a second chance mate was more humiliating for Petra than it had been to be rejected by him in the first place. She had absolutely lost all face in front of the Werewolf community after the rejection. As the reason for the rejection was known to the entire community, a female who was revered and feared by the werewolf had becorne a low class w’”‘.
Nothing was hidden since Xavier had rejected her then called on her old pack to collect her. But then Xavier had totally covered up the news after that day, no one knew who the woman in his past had been. Everything in his life had returned to normal, but it had been the polar opposite for the new high-ranking slut. Yes, this had been what others had called her. They had called her other such names as well.
There was just one reason for it, Xavier. She hadn’t been rejected by a typical Alpha. Her mate had been an Alpha Prince! She had known him since they were both children. Those who were aware of Xavier’s true identity had instantly turned their backs on her. Obviously, no one wanted to be at odds with the royals. Those who only knew him as an Alpha of a powerful pack likewise cut themselves off from her. She had found herself isolated from the whole community.
The rejected Luna had lost not just her friends and a powerful Alpha as a mate, but her own family members, who had opted to sever all ties with her. Alpha Harvey, her younger brother, had not been on
good terms with her since they were children, thus his agreement to Xavier’s terms earlier had little effect on her. His demeanor had become to simply brush her aside, but her father had not done the same.
Her father, the Blue Moon Pack’s Alpha Roman, had led her back to the pack, acting normally in front of the Sirius Bright Pack, but in the privacy of their own pack he began to loathe her. She had once been his princess, she had then become a curse on his life. As the family’s eldest daughter, she was meant to behave well so that they could hold their heads high because she had been graced with Alpha Xavier as a mate. But after the rejection, she had turned out to be nothing more than a shame and a stain on the
family’s reputation. Not to mention her affair with her own Beta.
Alpha Roman hadn’t cared that his daughter had been completely devastated by the rejection or that she’d nearly lost her wolf as a result of it. The old Alpha was primarily concerned with the treaty he had almost lost, as well as his standing in the werewolf society. People would obviously not say anything to his face, but gossip was pervasive and could not be ignored.
Petra had a difficult time throughout the last two years in the Blue Moon Pack. After the first three months of rejection, she was eventually able to reconcile with her father when she offered to do whatever she could to restore his reputation. Was it easy for him to trust his unscrupulous daughter? No, but the old Alpha was, after all, her father. One by one, using her brain that had always worked like a computer, she had raised her pack back to its former glory. Until it had surpassed it becoming mightier and stronger than
ever!
She had also recovered her wolf after making a secret commitment to her. A promise to destroy Xavier, who had destroyed her life due to a minor treachery. It was only a f**k! Why had he ruined her life because of it?
It took her nearly two years to regain the complete trust of her father, family, and pack, during which time she had lived a horrible life as a rejected she-wolf with the label of a prostitute on her forehead. The day of her rejection she had not only been disgraced, but it had also caused her immense grief. The agony of losing her lover, Orion. That she could never forget or forgive. But now again…
“After countless sleepless nights dealing with these memories and grief, I’ve learned that Xavier has been gifted with a second chance mate!” Petra paused, her gaze drawn to the man who had entered her room through the large window she had left open in anticipation of his arrival. She knew he’d come to
her.
“Get up,” he said heavily. When he noticed her condition and her words, the man’s heart and emotions were on edge. He took a small step closer to her, but she stayed on the floor. She kept talking.
“I have been suffering, struggling, suffocating, and crying but he… he was,” she uttered in one breath, but by the end of the sentence her voice had lowered to a whisper as a fat tear rolled down her cheek. It was not a tear of sorrow but one of anger that she couldn’t let go. When he witnessed her weeping, he came to a standstill.
“He… he is enjoying his life with his love? With another woman? Leaving me alone?” He was right in front of her, but paused when he saw how distressed she was. He despised her tears. It had always made
him want to burn the entire world down for her.
“I wonder, Why?” She asked, clutching at his long legs with a furious growl. “Stop it,” he growled as well. She gritted her teeth as she got up from the floor. “Stop it? You said that they were just f****g each other! That slut was just his bed warmer and a
mere chosen mate. So how the f**k did she turn out to be his soulmate?” She demanded. Her tears had
turned into fire in her eyes.
“Why is Xavier blessed with another mate when I didn’t get any love? Tell me? Why? Why? Why?!!!” She screamed at the top of her lungs, grabbing the man’s collar with all of her strength.
