"I don't mind." Nicholas honestly didn't care at all.
Soon, the car stopped at a hot spring hotel.
Since Nicholas had already made a reservation prior to their arrival, the waiters began to serve the dishes not long after they entered the private dining room.
After their dinner, he led Tessa to the spa for some relaxation.
Since they were separated for at least half a month, there was no doubt that the two missed each other deeply. As a result, they didn't conceal their affection for one another throughout the trip from the spa to their room.
It was almost dawn by the time they were done.
Tessa was so exhausted that she couldn't even pry her eyes open. So, she just stayed in Nicholas' embrace as the latter attentively cared for her.
…
Thus, it was to no one's surprise that they only managed to wake up around noon.
Although Tessa was awake, she felt utterly lazy and had no intention of getting out of bed. Nonetheless, when Nicholas saw this, he was more than happy to help her out.
Later, the two finally arrived home and walked toward the front door while holding hands.
As soon as they stepped through the door, they saw Gregory and Gordon sitting on the couch with grim faces.
It turned out that the two little guys were well aware that Tessa had returned last night and had been waiting for her keenly in the living room.
Alas, their patience was rewarded with the news that Nicholas had taken Tessa on a trip. To the two boys that had spent their entire evening eagerly waiting for their mother, it was dreadful news indeed. Suffice it to say, Gregory and Gordon, had been sulking since yesterday.
"Meanie Daddy! You took Mommy out to have fun without Gordon and me. You've even hoarded Mommy all for yourself!" Gregory protested against Nicholas' unspeakable crime.
At the same time, Gordon, who was next to Gregory, nodded and echoed, "Daddy, you're bad. I don't want Daddy anymore!"
As for Tessa, she simply felt that both her eldest and youngest sons were extremely adorable despite their clearly sullen expressions.
So, she gloated, "Well, you started this mess, so it's your responsibility to coax them."
After that, she walked to the couch nearby and made herself comfortable.
Nicholas' eyes were instantly filled with resigned fondness as he watched her cheeky demeanor.
After a moment of laughter and bickering, Gregory and Gordon eventually learned about Tessa's upcoming performance at Wiener Musikverein.
Since Gordon was still young, he didn't know how significant it was for a musician to perform at Wiener Musikverein. However, Gregory knew, which was why he was very excited on her behalf. "Mommy, your dream is about to come true."
