Tessa tightly grabbed the sheets on the bed, feeling the pressure. 

“It‘s not that I don‘t want our child; it‘s just that this child wasn‘t in my plan. My career is still on the rise, and I don‘t think I‘ve reached my highest potential yet. That‘s why I‘m in a mess.” 

Nicholas looked at Tessa, who seemed to be releasing everything she had been thinking about. Surprisingly, he was quite calm as though he also understood Tessa‘s thoughts. 

Even so, he was angry at Tessa for not telling him such big news in the first place.

“I have a question for you.” 

“What is it?” Tessa looked up at the man. 

Nicholas looked back at her with deep eyes. “Since this isn‘t part of your plan and you didn‘t want to tell me about it, were you planning to secretly abort the child?“. 

“No.” Tessa immediately shook her head in denial. 

Nicholas‘ eyes flickered, and he said coldly, “But that‘s how you felt just now, and you didn‘t intend to keep it either, so you chose to hide it.” 

“Nicholas, I really didn‘t mean that. Believe me.” Tessa looked at Nicholas sincerely, hoping that he could believe in her. 

The man‘s heart softened for a moment, but thinking of what Tessa had done during this time, he suppressed it. He took a deep breath, turned his back against Tessa, then said solemnly with some anger, “I don‘t care what you think. Since you don‘t want to have this child, don‘t give birth to it. Go and abort the child.” 

After speaking, he slammed the door and walked away. 

Meanwhile, Tessa looked in the direction where Nicholas disappeared and felt extremely miserable. 

“I really didn‘t mean that. It just felt rather sudden, and I didn‘t come to my senses for a time,” she muttered to herself while sitting on the bed, her tears falling like pearls breaking off a string.

After Nicholas left, he went directly to his study.
