I'm on my way home from the mall. What time is it and my driver is still gone? Maybe Gov commanded him to look for me.
Im busy to wait when someone called on my phone. So I answered that.
“Angel,” I greeted her.
“Stop it Hale!”
“You called?” I asked as I looked around the road.
“Tito has been looking for you for a while. Where are you?” she asked.
“I'm going home.”
I hang up it immediately, that bitch would ask a lot of questions so it would be better if I end it. I was walking to the terminal. Maybe I'll just take a taxi.
But I have not yet been able to get a taxi when a car stopped by my side. I also stopped and looked in the descending mirror.
“Meghan? Did I really say that is you! Get inside the car!" said Jobert.
I turned around. I would have refused when he got out and opened the other door. The terminal is still far away so I boarded. I can get home easier if I ride. I still have to explain to Gov.
A few more hours passed when we got home. I got off when he opened the car door.
“T-thank you,” I said to him before I turned around and walked away.
I was about to enter the gate when it suddenly opened by Gov.
“G-gov ...” I stammered as he just looked at Jobert seriously.
“Good evening, Governor,” Jobert greeted happily. Gov just nodded and turned to look at me again.
We went inside and sent Jobert home.
“Where have you been?” he asked. I knew he was angry because of his tone.
“At the mall, Gov. I-I bought some books,” I excused myself.
“Why are you with Mr. Villar's son?” he asked again.
“I just met him on the road, Gov. So he took me on board.” I said and bowed.
“From now on, I don't want to see you with another man. Do you understand?” he said.
“Sorry Gov,” I said and just bowed.
But I was surprised when he hugged me.
“I'm so worried about you, Baby girl. Don't do that again,” he was worried.
I just nodded. Fortunately, he was not angry. I went to my room and got dressed.
*****
I'm going to the locker, so I can put my things when I meet Gian.
“Hi! Gian,” I greeted him with a smile. Perfect! I brought my baked cupcakes.
“Meghan ...”
I smiled as I handed him a box of cupcakes.
“For you. I hope you'll eat this. I baked it earlier.”
He reached out and opened it. So I smiled even more when I saw him put it in his bag.
“Thank you for this,” he said with a smile before he left.
“A-ah, Gian. Wait!” I chased him to keep up with his walk. He stopped to look at me.
“Can we--”
“Mr. Andres, Dean calls you,” said of one student.
“Excuse me,” he said and walked over to Dean's Office.
Annoying! Im not done yet mentioned! I was about to return when I met Amara, Francine's friend.
“How is Francine, Amara? Is she at the clinic yet?” I heard Anne ask.
"She's at the Dean Office right now.”
I suddenly looked at Dean's office. So she is the reason to blame why I did not talk to Gian?
“M-meghan?” Amara asked in surprise when she saw me.
“Oh?” I asked calmly.
“N-nothing."
I did not wait for what she would say and I left. I may be late for my next subject.
"Girl! Don't you know the news yet?” Sapphire asked me as she greeted me.
“What?”
“Baseball hit Francine, so she was taken to the clinic because she lost consciousness. According to the other students, Gian investigate it, and for the people who hit Francine, Dean sent the parent for those players. Isn't that sweet?" he said while trembling.
“And you really have the courage to answer your mother like that!”
“What? I'm just correcting her. I'm not informed that even correcting a mistake is also wrong?”
“BULLSH—”
“Dad, Anya Enough! What do you need?” Francine looked at me badly.
“I said. ITS MEGHAN HALE LEWIS. Stop calling me, Anya,” I teased her. I also looked at her badly.
“Whatever. I don't care what your name, you can't replace the blood of Credo on your body,” she said and smiled. Bitch, isn't it?
“Well, I did. I'm a Lewis now. Because, I'm sick of my last name,” I replied to her before looking at Dad badly. I could see his angry face that almost exploded on him. I left the clinic when I met Sapp.
“Meg!” I ignored her and continued walking. I don't want to cry here. So as I walked I looked up at my face so that my tears would not drip.
“You heard everything?”
She nodded. I took a deep breath before walking again. I need to refresh. I left school while Sapphire followed me.
We went to our hideout. I quickly lit the cigarette the salesman gave me.
"Are you still jealous of Francine?" Sapphire started to make a conversation.
"Why would I? She is not jealous. She will stab her parents in her lungs! Who do not know how to listen to the explanation!" I told her, until the smoke came out of my mouth.
"How about Gian?”
I did not speak. She just snatches everything from me.
“I can forget him and erase to my life. He is not important, If he does not like me, then go!"
“Wow, after many years now you just thought that? You're a different kind of girl.” she said while laughing to me.
“I don't tend to share, especially with people. Stab it in her lungs,” I said annoyed.
“Well, you're right. Girl you're beautiful! Don't waste your beauty on a man that don't care about you," she said.
“Sapphire, I know I'm beautiful,” I told her with a smile.
He will take care of his life. He's not a loss. Why did I just think of that now? When did I look like a fool to chase after many years to him. There are lots of men out there that I deserved.
It's only been a few days and I will never see them again. They will also disappear from my path. I just hope they don't mess up my Mom at home anymore.
I hate to see them happy with Francine. So from now on, I'll try to forget them. Gov. Lucas is my dad. He is my family. So I should not be jealous anymore. They chose to evict me because of their stupid daughter. Then go! They are tough! Because I will never go back to their lives.
And for Gian, I will make sure you'll repent that you chose that bitch over me!
