Jenna was fuming inside but could only manage to say, “Mia’s calling you, so go ahead. Don’t worry & 

me.” 

“Let the driver take you to the hospital first. I’ll be there soon,” Hunter replied, placing Jenna in the car and instructing the driver to go. 

As she sat in the back seat, watching Hunter’s figure fade into the distance, her hands clenched tightly 

into fists. 

“That old fool! One day, I’ll watch you die right in front of me!” she cursed, 

Hunter returned to the house after seeing Jenna off. Inside the living room, Mia was sitting on the sofa, casually eating fruit while chatting with Mr. Cooper, the atmosphere light and comfortable. 

Hunter paused for a moment. Mia always got along so well with everyone at the estate, so why was she constantly at odds with Jenna? 

Seeing Hunter, Mia popped another piece of fruit into her mouth and pointed upstairs. “Grandpa is waiting for you in the study.” 

She had no idea what Mr. Jasper Sr. wanted to talk to Hunter about, nor did she care. 

Mr. Cooper’s expression shifted as he approached Hunter. “Mr. Jasper, follow me, please.” He couldn’t help but worry. 

Mia was so kind and gentle, yet Hunter was cold and indifferent. He feared one day Mia would reach her limit and decide to leave, and that would be a real problem. 

Hunter nodded briefly in acknowledgment and followed. As they made their way upstairs, he suddenly asked, “Why does Grandpa treat Jenna differently from Mia?” 

Mr. Cooper gave a small smile. “If you recall, Mr. Jasper Sr. once said he only recognized Mia as his granddaughter–in–law. That’s why she gets special treatment.” 

Hunter frowned. “Do you know why Grandpa doesn’t like Jenna?” 

Mr. Cooper chuckled, “I wouldn’t dare guess Mr. Jasper Sr.’s thoughts. If you want to know, you’ll have to ask him yourself.” 

It was clear to everyone that Jenna was spoiled, manipulative, and lacked genuine goodness. It was no surprise Mr. Jasper Sr. didn’t like her. 

What puzzled Mr. Cooper was why Hunter tolerated her so much, especially when their relationship seemed to cross boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed It was bound to stir up misunderstandings. 

Hunter pressed his lips together, remaining silent. Even if he asked, he knew his grandfather wouldn’t give him a direct answer. 

Mr. Cooper led Hunter to the study door before stepping aside. Hunter entered and found his grandfather standing by the window, his figure slightly hunched. 

In that moment, Hunter realized just how old the man had become.
