Anton Brotherhood novel Chapter 38

Carl hesitated and looked at Jason, “What do you think?” After thinking about it, Jason said to the guard, “Tell me where Filbert is. Today he is doomed. We are from the Anton Brotherhood. If you tell me, I will consider letting you in, so you have a chance, or you will die now!”

The guard looked at the two of them and whispered, “Sir, the boss is on the third floor.!”

Jason looked the guard in the eye and asked, “You're not lying?” The guard looked at Jason and nodded. The eyes would never lie. Jason was satisfied and winked at Carl, who understood it. Carl smiled at the guard while stabbing him in the throat. They knew very well that this kind of coward man could never join the Anton Brotherhood and that sparing him would be troublesome…

They waved to their men in the hallway and said to Anton who came over, “Boss, Filbert is on the third floor. What should we do?”

Anton said, “Kill Filbert and don't let go of the others!”

All his men nodded. Anton left Hamlin on the first floor to await them later. Hamlin was also in charge of dealing with the enemy in the rooms on the first floor if the enemy noticed them. Hamlin nodded yes.

Anton walked upstairs with Carl and Jason. He felt that there was always a person behind him, so he turned around and found a beautiful young girl. Anton didn't know her and didn't pay much attention. The girl was Zara, who was following Jason's orders to guard behind Anton.

Along the way, they got rid of several guards on the stairs and finally reached the third floor. Outside the second door on the left, Jason whispered, “This is it!” With that, he pulled a pistol out of his pocket. Anton nodded to his men, and they pulled out their guns. Carl shouted, “Go!” He kicked open the door and headed in.

After entering the house, they saw a man and a woman lay on the bed. The man sat upwhen hearing the noise, and he looked a bit similar to Filbert as people heard of. Carl guessed that this person was Filbert, so he raised his hand to fire the gun twice. The gunshots were like thunder in the silent building, and the hallways were echoing. The man on the bed did not give out a sound before his skull was broken into pieces. The woman next to him was so frightened that she shouted. Carl did not pay much attention to her. Seeing that the man on the bed die, Carl immediately withdrew.

At this time there was a riot in the building. Hearing the gunshots and not knowing what was going on, members of the Brotherhood walked out of their rooms with sleepy eyes. As soon as they came out, they were attacked by people who were ambushed outside their doors. Somebody was the first to shout, “No, it's the enemy!”

Only then did members of the Brotherhood wake up and pick up their arms from the rooms to fight with members of the Anton Brotherhood. Gunshots and shouts were all over the building, and a huge melee of hundreds of people began.

Anton wasn't assured, so he shouted to Carl, “Carl, is the person inside Filbert?”

Carl replied as he fought the enemy, “I didn't see him clearly, but I vaguely felt that he should be Filbert!”

Anton whispered inward, “Idiot!” He pushed open the door and entered the room. Zara followed in. The sky outside was still dark, so Anton couldn't figure out the bloody body on the bed. He turned on the light and took from his pocket the photo Stephan sent him to compare it with the corpse on the bed, but nothing was found. The man's face was bloodstained and deformed.

The woman on the bed had been screaming since Anton came in. Anton was upset and shouted, “Shut up!”

The woman kept screaming as if she had not heard him. Anton slapped the woman, “Shut up!” The woman regained her senses after that. She glowered at Anton, gritted her teeth, and said, “You murderer! You're a beast!”

Seeing the woman's hateful look, Anton felt sad and sighed. Pointing to the corpse on the bed, he asked, “Was he Filbert?”

“Haha….” The woman laughed hysterically, her hand quietly reaching to get something under the pillow. “I won't tell you. Even if you kill me, I won't tell you….” As she said, the woman suddenly took out a pistol from under her pillow, pointed it at Anton, and pulled the trigger.

There was a gunshot. Anton was defenseless and too careless because he did not expect that a woman in a mental mess could still shoot. He instinctively leaned down. As the woman pulled the trigger, a flying knife was quickly stabbed into her stomach. The great pain from her stomach made her hand askew, so the bullet flew past Anton's arm. The woman gritted her teeth and was about to fire a second shot, but her whole body froze as a sharp knife was thrust into her heart. The person holding the knife was Zara, who was expressionless.
