Jade's POV
Today was the day we would go over the plans for the nursey. Since it was too early to tell, Kyle and I decided that white would be the perfect colour. That way when the baby is born we wouldn't have to worry about the colour of the room since it would be a very neutral colour.
He was certain that the baby is a boy but I can't wait to prove him wrong. I just know that it's going to be a girl but for Kyle sake, I will refer to my little girl as he.
We sat across from each other. Each of us searching the internet to see the different patterns and style we could use. We also that we'd make two same nurseries. One in his penthouse and the other in mine. This way the baby won't realize the change in environment. We decided that when the baby reached a certain age he'll spend some nights with Kyle and the others with me. It seemed like the best way to have each parent involve and it wasn't like we would in different towns.
"Found one." I lifted my head and Kyle was handing his Ipad to me. I accept and look at what was showing on the screen. Awful, I didn't like this at all.
"You don't like it do you," he said and rolled his eyes.
"Am I that easy to read?"
"Only to me," he said with a smirk. Kyle and I were friends now. The relationship sometimes still get a little awkward because of the sexual tension that was in the air but we both ignore it. We decided that what's best for the baby is to have two parents who were friends and if I was sleeping with Kyle it would complicate everything.
"Well, it's just that I want something soft. Something that looked homely. Something sweet."
"Yeah, and I can't offer that."
I lift my hands and shake it. "No, No. You are sweet, soft and homely. It's just.." I couldn't find the words to say.
"I'm an asshole."
I sigh and shake my head. "You're not an asshole. You're sweet and nice, even loving but you're awful with designs. I can see now why this apartment is so pretty cause you hired someone to do it. You're a great person but designing a nursery just isn't for you." I had no idea if he would find my words offensive or not. I pray he doesn't. I didn't want to be the reason for him being angry.
He started to laugh really hard. After he calmed down he said, "I was just joking with you. I think you're more than capable of handling all this yourself. I'm just here to watch as you make those decisions so I can add some in if it's needed."
I raised my brows. I still didn't get this man. "You're crazy. Why did you take time off then?"
"I didn't really take time off and plus, I'm the boss I can do whatever I want whenever I want. Right now I want nothing more than to be a part of this baby's life which means that will be there every step of the way."
I smiled at his words. "That's sweet of you, it really is but I won't be having the baby until the next seven months so... Unless you choose not to work while I'm pregnant."
He grinned. "Although that sounds pleasing, unfortunately, It's impossible."
"I know. I was just testing you." I smile. There was no way he would stop working for seven months just to be here for a baby that isn't born yet. I've worked for him over a year and I've seen him sleep in that office overnight. He was too much of a workaholic to take such a long break.
