Babysitting the Billionaire's Twin novel Chapter 6

Jaxon's Point of View

I explained things to the man who's one of the staff in my hotel as he led me to where the urgent meeting was being held. An hour passed and finally, the company's problem was fixed. They just needed my permission to approve things. One by one, people left the room. Alone, I stared at the ceiling and thought about the caretaker of my kids, Autumn.

My decision was right for giving her the job, I'm sure she'd be a great mother someday.

I smiled to myself and stood up, exiting the room.

As I walked through the halls, I remembered the fact that Autumn was wearing my polo at the moment. I hope no one walks in again for it would be another embarrassing moment for the both of us. Her looks and features of wearing my polo didn't leave my head. It instead kept popping up and I can't stop thinking about it. My cheeks burned and I covered my mouth with the back of my right hand.

What is this feeling? This is so weird, I don't like it.

I shook my head and closed my eyes, making my way to my comfort zone, my office.

I opened the doors and was about to call Autumn when I realized she was fast asleep with my children on the sofa.

“Cute,” I blurted out.

Wait, why did I say that?

Again, I shook my head and then took my suit off. The rain still didn't stop and even if the heater was turned on, I got to say that it wasn't enough to warm me up. Thinking about Autumn's exposed legs, I covered her up with my suit then knelt on the floor beside them. The three of them looked cute together. She looks like she's their mother. Except that their real mother didn't care about them. The bad thing is, these two kiddos didn't feel their real mother's love. Guess I made the right decision to hire a nanny on such short notice.

I chuckled to myself. “A nanny, huh?” Kissing the foreheads of my children, I stood up and sat down on my office chair, and started to work my ass off once again.

* * *

A few hours passed and finally, work is over for today, but Autumn and the children were still in a deep sleep.

I guess they got tired from playing.

I smiled and dialed the number of the reception area. “Yes, Sir Jaxon? How can I help you?” the new receptionist asked.

“Get Luke up here in my office and get the ground floor cleared for half an hour, not even you should be there,” I answered and immediately put the phone down, not waiting for the woman to respond.

Luke was the one who saw us earlier, saw her wearing my clothes with bare legs to be exact. He's still pretty much young, but he must keep his mouth shut about that. I don't want rumors spreading all over my hotel. “You called for me, sir?” Luke asked as he opened the door.

I raised my hand. “Shhh, they're sleeping.”

“Oh, I'm sorry,” he said in a hushed voice.

“Get the twins, gently put them in their stroller. Get that bag, my laptop is in there. Wait for me at the elevator,” I ordered and he quickly did what I told him to do.

I sighed and poked Autumn's cheek. “So you're one of those people who sleeps like a log.

“Well then, upsy daisy, I'm going to carry a nanny.” I quietly laughed at my joke and left my office.

As I walked straight down the hall, Autumn rubbed her cheek against my chest. For a moment, my world stopped. Why do I feel so drawn to this woman? I don't get it. “Sir Jaxon?” Luke asked from afar which snapped me out of my bubble.

“Oh, yeah, coming,” I answered and headed to where he was.

When the elevator door opened, we got in. “You seemed attached to this woman,” Luke said, grinning weirdly at me.

“What, Luke? I'm attached to all of you here.” I rolled my eyes at him, trying hard not to look at Autumn's face.

He wriggled his eyebrows. “But not as attached as you are to her right now.”

“Luke,” I warned and glared at him.

“What? You could've told me to carry her, but you decided to carry her yourself. Now tell me that isn't odd as fuck.” He continued to wriggle his eyebrows. In annoyance, I lightly nudged him with my elbow.
