Chapter 1018 I'm Not Afraid

Hattie stepped back in front of Selena, holding the blood-stained whip with exquisite features and a chilling aura in her eyes. Selena pulled back her longbow, her sharp gaze aimed at the spot she had been staring at.

After a moment of shock, Richard and the others quickly regained their composure, standing in a circle with icy expressions as they faced off against the wolf pack. The wolves had been ravaged by Hattie and were now ferociously circling them, baring their teeth as they searched for a chance to attack again. The thick scent of blood permeated the cold night wind.

As the tension rose, the wolf pack suddenly became restless, their savage eyes fixed on Selena and her companions, becoming even more violent. Selena's sharp gaze also grew colder.

As they watched with bated breath, a fierce shadow emerged from the darkness and walked towards Selena's arrow. It was a giant white wolf with hair like needles and oily green eyes, cruel and calm like a king of beasts. Kevin's pupils suddenly shrank. "It's the alpha wolf!"

Richard and Yasmin also felt their breath become heavy. Everyone knew that the alpha wolf's den was not far from the wolf pack's gathering place. If it called for more companions, they might not make it out alive.

The wolf king walked elegantly around them, clearly searching for their weakness. However, no matter where it went, Selena's bow and arrow followed closely, with the cold iron arrowhead always aimed at its vitals.

The wolf king bowed and bared its terrifying fangs, ready to attack. Selena's black eyes seemed to flash for a moment. She stared motionlessly at the pair of eyes that emitted a cold and ruthless aura, and her eyes rolled over with cold and murderous intent.

In that moment, the four people closest to her, including Hattie, all lowered their heads in fear, with their hair standing on end. The wolf king let out a low growl, as if it had encountered a natural enemy, and its huge body trembled slightly.

Animals act on instinct, so they can feel more clearly than humans who the most dangerous person is. Selena's eyes grew darker, and the terrifying scent of blood around her became so thick that it seemed to materialize.

The wolf king suddenly raised his head, and his fur bristled as he howled towards the moon above.

"Ah-"

The next moment, the wolves surrounding Selena and the others began to scratch the ground with their limbs and let out varying lengths of low growls.

As they growled, they bowed their bodies and began to back away.

After retreating a distance, the wolf pack turned around and quickly left.

The wolf king looked at Selena one last time before disappearing into the dark forest with the pack.

The surroundings once again fell into silence.

The wind blew, and the campfire burst into sparks.

If it weren't for the bloodstains on the ground, one could almost believe that the crisis just now was just an illusion.

Selena slowly put down her bow, her dark eyes still looking towards the darkness in the distance. She raised her hand and pressed Hattie's cold shoulder.

Hattie's stiff body only regained consciousness at this moment.

The young girl looked up at Selena's pale face, unable to detect any fear in her expression. She suddenly threw herself at Selena, hugging her waist tightly.

Selena looked down at her and her voice was slightly hoarse, "Did I scare you?"

Hattie shook her head and said loudly, "Selena, I'm not afraid!"

Selena was stunned for a while, and her cold expression finally began to melt, with a gentle smile on her face. "It's okay."

The three Union University students finally recovered from the terrifying atmosphere and looked at Selena with eyes that inevitably contained something else.

Richard wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "I almost knelt down in fear!"

Yasmin was blunt. "I owe you my life!"

The two soldiers thought Selena was impressive, but didn't think much beyond that.
