And that's why we have the scene now!
Principal Marshall stared into Selena's eyes with disapproval on his face. "Miss Turner, with the reputation of the Turner family and your methods, you could easily crush this threat in its infancy!"
Everyone knew that Diana was able to control the "Sacred Pearl" by pure luck, not ability. Compared to her behavior of stumbling upon success, Zone Six couldn't afford to turn against Selena and suffer the consequences.
If Selena persisted, with Oscar's support and Diana's previous crimes, they could easily execute Diana on these charges and permanently solve this problem. This was also Principal Marshall's idea.
But currently, neither Oscar nor Selena seemed to have that idea.
Selena smiled, a glint of incomprehensible sharpness in her eyes. "Thank you, Principal Marshall, but that woman is still useful to me."
"When she is no longer of use to me, I will make her pay!" Upon hearing Selena's words, Principal Marshall stopped persuading her. "Since you have made your decision, I will report to Zone Six tomorrow and release her."
Selena didn't care about Diana, so she didn't ask any more questions. Her gaze fell instead on the painting on the wall, and she smiled. "Who painted this painting?"
Principal Marshall looked up and a trace of sadness flickered in his eyes. "Your youngest uncle painted it."
Selena's smile disappeared. She pursed her lips.
Principal Marshall raised his hand and pressed his forehead. "Your youngest uncle was your grandfather's youngest son. He was spoiled by your older uncle and father since childhood and had the most unruly temperament."
"Back then, the entire capital experienced his mischief. Your grandfather worked hard to discipline him."
Recalling something interesting, Principal Marshall suddenly laughed while looking at the painting. "When your youngest uncle was ten years old, he blew up the school gate. The news reached the Turner family, and your grandfather chased him for several blocks with a cane."
"In the end, it was your father and older uncle who begged for him and saved him from your grandfather's cane."
"Although he didn't get beaten, your grandfather hired a painting master to teach him painting. And he set a rule that unless he became a master, he would not be allowed to enter military school."
"Your youngest uncle's greatest wish since he was a child was to become a soldier. Your grandfather did not allow him to attend military school, which was almost like taking his life."
"He persevered and spent three months negotiating with that famous painter until he finally painted a picture..."
Clearly, it's the one hanging on the wall
Selena looked at the painting.
It was obviously a thick and colorful ink painting, with naive brushstrokes. With just a few strokes, she could feel the bold and unrestrained spirit of the painter.
Selena remembered her younger brother, whom she had raised herself, and in some ways, he was similar to the young master of the Turner family.
Selena asked, "How did he die?"
Except for Oscar, who had been a vegetable for twenty years, the Turner family had been wiped out.
Principal Marshall stared at the painting and said, "To save Oscar, he flew a fighter jet and fought against an entire enemy ship, sacrificing himself completely."
"That year, he was only sixteen."
Selena's eyelids trembled.
After a while, Selena suddenly said to Principal Marshall, "I have to go now."
Principal Marshall watched Selena leave and looked back at the painting on the wall, remembering the arrogant young man from back then and said with a smile, "If you knew you had such a beautiful niece, you would have spoiled her more than you spoiled yourself."
...
After leaving Principal Marshall's office, Selena got in the car and followed Leia back to the villa.
Leia sensed that her mistress was not in a good mood and asked, "Madam Selena, what's wrong?"
