As soon as Winnie spoke, the entire room fell silent. Selena raised an eyebrow and looked over at her. She noticed that although some of the wealthy young ladies in attendance were surprised, they weren't particularly shocked.

Alisha stood up immediately after and smiled warmly. "Miss Lillian may not know this, but when it comes to treasures, while the capital may not be able to compete with Central City in terms of technology or military might, we still have confidence in our own treasures and are willing to go head-to-head with Central City."

"Compared to what my the capital has hidden away," Alisha's gaze swept over those three boxes before continuing on. "These three trinkets Miss Lillian has brought cannot compare; they can only serve as icing on the cake."

Originally, Central City could have exchanged their technological patents for these items. But Lab 717 had blocked that path entirely - anything that Central City Research Institute could produce would undoubtedly be something Lab 717 could also produce.

She looked at everyone present magnanimously before finally turning her gaze towards Selena wearing an expression suggesting gratitude was expected of her: "Miss Turner should understand the gap between the capital and Central City!"

"Rebelling pointlessly is a waste of time as well as losing face - why bother?" Bianca giggled sarcastically while subtly mocking them.

"Do you really want many young ladies from the capital humiliated because of you? Miss Turner wouldn't want such a scene either?"

"Central City is already giving Miss Turner face by exchanging these three items for Mr. Hall - don't push your luck!"

Selena glanced at Bianca disdainfully before speaking up again.
