Begging the Divorced Heiresses Back novel Chapter 7

Mia’s POV:

Three days later.

A board meeting was held in the Walter Group.

In addition to me, Frank, my both sons Harry and David, and the two other directors, Mr. Patel and Mr. White, all of them are present at the meeting as we agreed before.

However, what shocked me most was that Evan was also present in the meeting room. Even though Evan had the 15% shares of the Walter Group, he had never participated in any board meeting or taken part in any management issue related to the company…

What’s more, he had only brought those shares out of goodwill, so it was even more shocking for me to see him here.

“It’s really strange! Mr. Cater is also here!”

Seeing Evan here, Mr. White and Mr. Patel were eager to fawn on him, as if he was the one who controlled the whole Group. But I can’t blame them, as Evan has the power to destroy the Walter Group…

After all, in front of the Carter Group, Walter Group was like an aunt in front of an elephant.

However, Evan just sat on the chair silently, cold and aloof, showing no interest in the two men.

Even though he was just sitting, his aura was so strong that these two men didn’t dare to approach him.

At that moment, the door of the meeting room opened and Anya walked in, black-rimmed glasses on her face. She was wearing a black suit with a white shirt underneath.

There was light makeup on her face, and together with the red lipstick, even though I hate to admit, she looked businesslike and gorgeous.

A complete career lady.

Anya’s POV:

As I walked into the office, everyone was already sitting there. As I looked around, my eyes fell on Evan, who was sitting in the corner, with a cold face. Seeing him here I was quite shocked, as it was rare for him to attend such meetings.

However, I quickly regained my composure.

“All non-essential personnel, please leave! This is a board meeting, not your family meeting at home!” I said indifferently, looking at Mia and her two sons.

Hearing my words, Mia’s mouth trembled as she said, “Whoa! Aggressive, aren’t you? I was almost convinced that you have already been the Chairman since you are acting like one. Everyone here, Anya is more qualified than you. We are all more capable at least than you of taking over the position of Chairman. The Walter Group is too much of a big deal to be left in your hands. You think, you an immature girl, can handle it?”

Then I saw, Harry, a bad-tempered lad, slam the table furiously and he stood up. “Mom is right! Who are you to take the Chairman’s seat from Dad? What have you done for the Walter Group? You are just making a fuss here. Grandpa was old, and his brain wasn’t functional anymore. So that doesn’t count. Get out of here, or I will kick you out myself!”

Hearing that my lawyer, Mr. Clement, nudged his glasses and said sternly, “Mr. Walter, Mrs. Walter, please watch your tongue, if not then don’t blame my client for suing you for intimidation and libel!”
