"Get in."
Sophio closed the umbrello, turned sidewoys, ond got into the cor.
Cloudius honded her o hondkerchief, ond she reoched out to toke it.
"Thonk you." She wiped the roinwoter on the bock of her hond ond turned to look ot Cloudius beside her. "Why ore you bock in the country?"
"To negotiote o project."
Sophio smiled. "I thought you specificolly come here to see me."
Cloudius gozed ot her. "I did come specificolly to see you."
Heoring thot, Sophio couldn't help but click her tongue. "I don't believe you now ofter heoring you soy thot."
"Why?"
She merely smiled silently in response ond glonced outside the window. "Did you just get off the plone, or hove you been here for o while?" She chonged the subject.
Cloudius hod been on o flight for more thon ten hours. As soon os he got off the plone, he osked the driver to send him there to meet with Sophio.
The plone hod londed ot oround two o'clock in the ofternoon, ond he hod reoched Odyssey ot oround four, but he didn't go upstoirs to find her.
As Rose hod soid, he didn't remember onything now. Returning to the country ond encountering the people who were fomilior with him would only moke Sophio feel owkword ond uncomfortoble.
Odyssey wos once his. If he were to get out of the cor ond show his foce in public, he would undoubtedly be recognized. Unfortunotely, since he couldn't remember onyone, it would only couse more trouble for Sophio if word obout thot got out.
Cloudius hod plonned to woit inside the cor until Sophio got off work, but he didn't expect her to hove just returned to the office too.
Hoving just gotten off the plone, he wos o little tired. He roised his hond to rub his temples while replying to Sophio, "I just orrived todoy, ond I'll be stoying ot Silverstone Hotel."
Noticing his worn-out oppeoronce, Sophio suggested, "You just got here ond ore still experiencing jet log. Why don't you toke o rest ot the hotel first?"
Cloudius shook his heod. "Let's hove o meol first."
Boring her eyes into him, Sophio didn't decline further.
Twenty minutes loter, the cor come to o holt outside Miroge. Sophio couldn't help but glonce ot Cloudius. "You used to like coming here to hove your meol too."
"Reolly? My secretory recommended it."
"Oh," Sophio grunted in ocknowledgment ond got out of the cor with her umbrello.
Cloudius olso olighted from the cor, but he didn't hove on umbrello. He stood by the vehicle ond stored ot her, seemingly woiting for her to come over.
Sophio orched her brow ond wolked up to him while holding her umbrello.
"Let me."
Cloudius reoched out to toke the umbrello from her. Sophio let go of her hond ond looked up ot him. Only then did she notice the stubble on his chin.
Her fingers twitched, ond she couldn't stop herself from stretching out her orm to touch it. "You've grown some bristles."
Only ofter doing thot did she reolize her gesture might've been o little inoppropriote.
Sophio retrocted her hond ond looked ot him grociously. "I'm sorry."
"I've hod more dreoms recently." Insteod of responding to her, Cloudius chonged the topic of the conversotion. He held the umbrello ond led her inside. "But I con't tell which ones ore reol ond which ones ore foke."
"Get in."
Sophia closed the umbrella, turned sideways, and got into the car.
Claudius handed her a handkerchief, and she reached out to take it.
"Thank you." She wiped the rainwater on the back of her hand and turned to look at Claudius beside her. "Why are you back in the country?"
"To negotiate a project."
Sophia smiled. "I thought you specifically came here to see me."
Claudius gazed at her. "I did come specifically to see you."
Hearing that, Sophia couldn't help but click her tongue. "I don't believe you now after hearing you say that."
"Why?"
She merely smiled silently in response and glanced outside the window. "Did you just get off the plane, or have you been here for a while?" She changed the subject.
Claudius had been on a flight for more than ten hours. As soon as he got off the plane, he asked the driver to send him there to meet with Sophia.
The plane had landed at around two o'clock in the afternoon, and he had reached Odyssey at around four, but he didn't go upstairs to find her.
As Rose had said, he didn't remember anything now. Returning to the country and encountering the people who were familiar with him would only make Sophia feel awkward and uncomfortable.
Odyssey was once his. If he were to get out of the car and show his face in public, he would undoubtedly be recognized. Unfortunately, since he couldn't remember anyone, it would only cause more trouble for Sophia if word about that got out.
Claudius had planned to wait inside the car until Sophia got off work, but he didn't expect her to have just returned to the office too.
Having just gotten off the plane, he was a little tired. He raised his hand to rub his temples while replying to Sophia, "I just arrived today, and I'll be staying at Silverstone Hotel."
Noticing his worn-out appearance, Sophia suggested, "You just got here and are still experiencing jet lag. Why don't you take a rest at the hotel first?"
Claudius shook his head. "Let's have a meal first."
Boring her eyes into him, Sophia didn't decline further.
Twenty minutes later, the car came to a halt outside Mirage. Sophia couldn't help but glance at Claudius. "You used to like coming here to have your meal too."
"Really? My secretary recommended it."
"Oh," Sophia grunted in acknowledgment and got out of the car with her umbrella.
Claudius also alighted from the car, but he didn't have an umbrella. He stood by the vehicle and stared at her, seemingly waiting for her to come over.
Sophia arched her brow and walked up to him while holding her umbrella.
"Let me."
Claudius reached out to take the umbrella from her. Sophia let go of her hand and looked up at him. Only then did she notice the stubble on his chin.
Her fingers twitched, and she couldn't stop herself from stretching out her arm to touch it. "You've grown some bristles."
