Breaking Down
Kelly’s POV
“You paid them…to frame me up,” I said as I stared blankly at the woman in front of me. Her eyes widened in panic. She even paled. Her fingers trembled which she immediately hid under the table between us.
“What are you talking about?”
I tilted my head. “That is also the reason why you came here alone when I told you to bring your husband. You know that the people you hired are caught.”
She gritted her teeth as her eyes sharpened. “My husband deserves the inheritance more than anyone! He worked so hard for that and you’ll come into the picture to steal everything?”
I smirked. “Come on, Diane! We both know who the real heiress is. I’m just claiming what’s rightfully mine
“You gold digger!”
I lifted my chin and crossed my legs. She gasped and sat on he whispering.
Diane swallowed hard and balled her fists. “What do you want?”
air properly after we heard people
“Simple,” I paused and smirked at her. “What do you know about my mother’s death?”
Her eyes widened. I read from the documents that Attorney Lee gave me that mom didn’t die of an accident. Someone was behind her death and I’m going to find out who it was.
“I don’t know anything.”
I flipped my hair and laughed sarcastically. “Then why is your action telling me otherwise? Why do you look nervous, Diane? Why do you look scared? I’m not gonna hurt you. I’m not a bad person like you.”
“I am not involved in your mother’s death, Kelly!”
“Then, tell me who is:”
“I…don’t know.”
I shifted on my seat. “Honestly… I don’t care if you know or not. I’ll give you a week to decide on which side you would take or you have to suffer the consequences a girl–who was once kind–could give.”
“I’m telling you the truth, Kelly.”
I wrinkled my nose and shook my head. “I’m not very patient.”
Grabbing my bag, I stared at him before I pulled myself up and started walking away. I was constantly clenching my jaws while exiting the coffee shop. I paused when I felt someone looking at me. At the farthest corner of the street, I saw a man with a familiar figure.
It’s been three days and he’s still following me. I had to avoid Pierce again because of his threat but that doesn’t mean I’m scared. I need to lure him. I need to make him believe that he can scare me and control me again so I can bring him down. Together with me if hecessary.
You’re not gonna win, Klay. I’ve been to hell and I’m not scared of a devil anymore,

“MOTHERFCKER!” screamed in so much anger and threw everything that’s on my table. My laptop, my ipad and all the documents fled to the air and scattered on the floor. I was panting so hard, unable to control my anger again. Yara, who’s standing in front of me, looked shocked but I didn’t care.
My head is aching. My blood is boiling in so much anger. Why do waves after waves of problems keep getting on my way? All I want is a peaceful life and justice for my parents.
“K–Kelly-”
I grabbed my hair. “FCK! FCK EVERYTHING! FCK EVERYONE! I’M SO TIRED OF ALL THESE BULLSHITS! I WANT PEACE! FCKING PEACE!”
“Kelly, calm down-”
“How can I? How can I fcking calm down, Yara? They’re saying my father killed himself because he found out that I had a secret relationship with my stepbrother and that my daughter is Klay’s child? How can I… fcking…calm down?”
She shook her head and tried to walk towards me but I took a step back and shook my head. I dropped my body on the swivel chair and massaged my forehead.
“I’ll come back later.”
I bit my bottom lip and looked down and felt something hot ng down my cheeks. I laughed without humor as I wiped my face and bit my bottom lip harder
I grabbed my phone and dialed Luke’s number. I made him my personal assistant because I already know him and his loyalty.
[Hello, Miss Kelly.]
“Order the media to take down all the articles about me circulating all over the internet. I want them down now and if someone refuses, drag them down.”
[On it, Miss.]
My phone beeped even before I dropped it on the empty table. I saw Pierce’s name on the screen but ignored it. I threw my phone on the table and lifted my chin proudly. I have my resources now. I have the power, the authority and I will use everything that I have to have the peaceful life I’ve been wanting to
have.
I want to live in peace with my daughter. I want her to play outside, go to school, have friends, grow up, date and marry without the fear of losing her in a painful accident or what.
When I got home that night, I was taken aback after seeing Pierce sitting on the couch.
He immediately pulled himself up after seeing me. He slightly pulled his dress shirt and faced me.
“Snow is asleep and Ana’s in the bathroom.”
I stared him. “What are you doing here?”
He started walking towards me at a very slow pace as if weighing my reaction.
