Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 109

Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia Chapter 109

Jane Smith looked up at Rachel Grey in shock.

Rachel’s expression was cold, and the corners of her lips curled up with a hint of ruthlessness.

Jane’s heart skipped a beat, and she subconsciously retreated. She grabbed Mrs. Smith’s arm tightly and stammered, “Ra, Rachel Grey, what are you trying to do? You are in the presence of the Smith family!”

“It’s precisely because of that that Miss Smith has to keep her word.” Rachel looked at her with a faint smile. “If you go back on your word, I’m afraid the Smith family will be seen as dishonest people in the eyes of outsiders onward.”

Jane had never felt more regretful in her life. Now, she was in a predicament.

But what was the use of such regret? Everyone was looking at her eagerly as if they would not stop until they saw her kneel and apologize.

Perhaps everyone’s unfeeling gazes agitated her. Jane glared at Rachel with hatred in her eyes. She roared indignantly, “Just because you say so doesn’t make it authentic! Maybe this old man is taking your side, or this was all planned by you in advance!”

Everyone was shocked by her words. Then, Jane became the center of attention in an instant.

They could not help but think that the young lady of the Smith family was not only stupid but also hopeless.

Mrs. Smith frowned. Just as she was about to reprimand Jane, Old Mr. Smith, who had been silent, bellowed, “Jane Smith, shut up!”

Given Mr. Griffin’s prestige in Seaxas, he was definitely not someone the Smith family could offend!

However, Jane challenged Mr. Griffin’s authority in front of others. She was just. -hopelessly stupid!

“Grandpa, I…” Jane stuttered, looking at her grandfather’s stern expression. Aggrieved, she bit her lips, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Upon hearing this, Rachel could not help but chuckle. “Would you believe me if I claimed that? From the beginning, the Smith family has been making things difficult for me. It was Jane Smith who pressured me to kneel and apologize. It was also Jane Smith who made the bet. Now that things have not gone as you wish, are you going to bite back at me?

Miss Grey, Jane Smith is still young and impetuous. It’s inevitable for her to be rash and hotheaded at this age. I hope you can be magnanimous and forgive her this once,” Olivia, Cruise’s gentle voice sounded.

Why should I be magnanimous? I am also still young. I refuse to give in. Those who try to step on me should be prepared for my retaliation. This is an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth!”
